Today's post is about day one of Mom's
R E T I R E M E N T
Today's pictures are of mecoveting admiring a
few of the things Mom brought home yesterday.
The Graduate Students and Post Docs Mom worked with
gave her a 'SURPRISE' party after lunch yesterday.
There was cake, cookies, a vase of roses, a bouquet of
Spring flowers and sunflowers, china teapot and cups and
this little ditty which is truly AMAZING and should be
an official cat toy.
It is a clear glass paperweight with kitty carvings inside.
It sits on a revolving base with colored lights....
I'm here to tell you I love it and I watched it for a long time.
I never met a balloon I didn't like....well until I met this one.
It is alive, everytime the peeps pass, it moves. I'll be watching it from the table because, I am sure it is possessed by the evil retirement virus!!!
OK NOW FOR THE PART WHERE DAD AND I HAND OUT
DEMERITS ON MOM'S FIRST DAY OF RETIREMENT.
DEMERITS FROM MADI
1. THEY GOT UP 20 MINUTES LATE...I THOUGHT I WOULD STARVE
2. IN SPITE OF WHAT SHE THINKS I DID SEE HER TAKE THIS PICUTRE. AND YES IT DOES MAKE MY LOVELY,
LUSCIOUS BUTT LOOK BIG BUT ONLY BECAUSE
SHE CROPPED IT, THEN ENLARGED IT!!!
Bad, bad Mom!!!

DEMERITS FROM DAD
1. He told me Mom is really a REBEL in Mom's Clothing.
Evidently she misbehaved at Panera during breakfast.
Dad has a routine and Mom did not follow one single rule!
2. After that fiasco, Mom joined Dad on his daily walk around the mall. Dad has a route he likes...Mom purposedly refused to
follow his route...oh she stayed with him Dad said she was
acting pretty silly.

We'll be enrolling Mom Obedience class next week.
Madi
Oh com'on Madi. It's her first day. Give her a break!!
ReplyDeleteAw Madi, there should be a grace period before you start handing out demerits. For the first few days you know your Mom is going to run wild so you should be a little more lenient with her. MOL!
ReplyDeleteWe like that paperweight with the revolving kitty carvings, can we watch with you?
Have a great weekend,
J and Cindi Lou
and the Krew
Yes but she got 30 bonus points for even getting out of bed so she's 10 ahead! :)
ReplyDeleteMadi, first it's sleeping in for 20 minutes, then it's sleeping in for 2 hours, while you starve! Be careful she doesn't slide down the slippery slope of sloth (how's that for alliteration) and end up hanging around the house all day in her pjs and robe. :-P
ReplyDelete-Fuzzy Tales
Oh what a lovely present, your mom's work colleagues obviouly had got to know her pretty well!
ReplyDeleteJust the perfect pressie!
As for the balloon - we don't like them at all - they are very spooky!
Enjoy your retirement mom xxxx
Bahahaha. You really should give Mom a break, it's her first day!! Give her a 3 days grace period, I'm sure she'll learn soon enough.
ReplyDeleteWOofs,
Pepsi
Oh I agree Madi! You MUST get her in for training as soon as possible! Good luck, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI do think that anyone should get a pass on the very first day. You and Dad need to ease her into the routine. She's probably feeling kind of skittish right now. I'm sure in a couple of weeks you'll have her in good form.
ReplyDelete"BOO!!!!"....I bet that scared'ya too, huh Madi? Okay, okay...so some of your visitors should get demerits too pro'ly 'cause I just now tried to spook you and I flitted by that moving balloon!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY 2ND DAY OF RETIREMENT MOM!! Aha....so, Dad is a mall walker. Me too. But only when it's rainy.
MOL... ha ha Mom Obedience School... Let me know how that goes!
ReplyDeletepawhugs, Max
Your Mom sure got some great gifts! I sure hope you goe easier on her today though. Ya gotta give her some time!
ReplyDeleteI agree with JackDaddy... :)
ReplyDeleteHoly Catfish! We think your Mom might need a harness when she goes out.
ReplyDeleteOh Madi give Mom a break it is only her first day!! It takes time to get in the swing of things!!
ReplyDeleteIf I had been her you would been hunger longer then 20 minutes!!
Come on over!!!
xx, Bambi & Fern
Oh, I'm so late visiting, and I'm sorry Madi. Got caught up in "stuff." But, it looks to me like your Mom is going to enjoy her new life very much and that you and Dad are going to have some adjusting to do. You'll get used to the new routine, I promise!
ReplyDeleteMy mom gets 20 demerits every day. she is always messing up and acting silly.
ReplyDeleteMadi, I think your mom should take a few days off and just be silly
bonks
Lots of demerits... on her first day!
ReplyDeleteHmmm....
I guess you and your dad will need all your patience! Ooops!
Have a great saturday!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Love it!! :o)
ReplyDeleteHaha! We hope your mom's retirement gets better!! ;-)
ReplyDeletemiss madi,
ReplyDeleteyou totally crack me up! it is only your mama's first day after all. she'll totally get in the retirements groove in no time...just give her a chance!
*woof*
the booker man
pee s -- me and asa and mama giggled 'n giggled about your "lovely, luscious butt"!! :D
Oh Madi, I don't even know where to begin so many funny things. Yes, balloons are not to be trusted, they move about on their own and do not listen to commands!
ReplyDeletePanera is one of my mom's favorites! I am sorry your mom misbehaved - maybe she deserves one more chance!
My mom has a few things to add - My stepfather retired a few years back and there was definitely an adjustment phase. Not for him, but for my mom. He definitely messed up her routine. His idea of a perfect day is to sit around and read newspapers, my mom's idea is to clean up the newspapers - can you see where there might be a problem. They worked it all out after a few weeks.
Madi,
ReplyDeleteKeep mom straight!! she is a Rebel!! and Wild!!
You'll have to keep them Mom in check now that she doesn't go to work everyday!
ReplyDeleteMadi, she has to get the hang of this tired ting. Give her's one week and den start scolding her.
