Thursday (Beach)Theme Song: KOKOMO

We thank Hootin Anni for sponsoring

Today's featured song is Kokomo by The Beach Boys...and it just so
happens Mom has some NC beach pictures.  Kokomo is one of Mom's favorite songs, she loves the beat, the words and the visual images she sees when she hears it.

Aruba, Jamaica, North Carolina, oooh I wanna take ya
Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama, Key Largo,
Montego baby why don't we go

Bodies in the sand, tropical drink melting in your hand
We'll be falling in love to the rhythm of a steel drum band
down in Kokomo North Carolina

Way Down to Kokomo North Carolina, we'll get there fast
and then we'll take it slow that is where we want to go
Way down to Kokomo North Carolina
To Martinique, that Monserrat North Carolina mystique

Note from Mom:  You know you are on the Southern Coast of NC when you
see Spanich Moss hanging in the trees

We'll pull out to see and we'll perfect our chemistry
by and by we'll defy a little bit of gravity
Give me a tropical contact high
Way down in Kokomo North Carolina
I wanna catch a glimps of the early evening sun setting on the
Port Au Prince Atlantic Ocean

Please click on this vide to hear the Beach Boys sing Kokomo like no one else can.

  3. First....LOVED your Wordless Wednesday post below my dear Madi!! You were definitely born to be a star....but shhhhhh, don't tell y'r mom, she may think you're a diva or some such thing.

Now to the song at hand here----------LOVE it. It's one of my favorites. Years ago, at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater, they performed. Ohhhhhhhh, the sounds of the song, and the piped in surf sound with this....oh, what can I say but YUM. And your photos are absolutely stunning. I bet it was such a relaxing, wonderful vacation trip. Oh, if I didn't say it before, I LOVE this SONG!!

Mom wanted to tell you no she only has to water the plants only once a day. But now that your Mom suggests it they would probably love it to be watered twice a day.
