ELEPHANT STEW

When Mom told me what she was going to put on my blog today, I said 'Mom you have got to be kidding, who wants a recipe for Elephant Stew' ?  Mom said 'Madi take a chill pill, everyone will get a big LOL/MOL/BOL'.
I'm hiding my eyes in disbelief and embarassment!!

Ingredients:
1 Elephant
Brown Gravy
salt and pepper
2 Rabbits

Directions:
Cut elephant into bite-size pieces (this will take about 4 months).
Add salt and pepper and cover with brown gravy.  This will serve 3,800 people.  If more people are expected, add 2 rabbits, but do this only if absolutely necessary, as most people don't like 'hare' in their stew.

Note from Mom:  I recently received a new cookbook from a friend.  My hubby was eagerly looking through it to see what might be new and delicious that I could make for him.  He cracked  when he saw the last recipe in the book for Elephant Stew.  Obviously someone had a very vivid imagination or they needed to fill up one more page.
FYI:  No elephants or rabbits were hurt or even seen while this cookbook was being complied.

  1. Salt? Everyone knows that salt makes elephants taste tough! :)

  13. I remember this recipe from when I was a child...we'd go out hunting our little pink elephants and four months later finally sit the family(or those of us that made it that long) down to dinner. Good times...good times! ;)
