I'd like to share a most precious picture of my nephew,
HARLEY, and tell you a little bit about this sweet boy.

Harley is my human sister's Cornish Rex kitty.
Even though I don't like for him to come visit, I admire him because he is the sweetest and bravest kitty I know.
In the last few years, he has been dealing with IBD.  It took a while to  find just the purrfect special food for his IBD.  Last fall  his weight dropped to significantly even though he was eating.  His peeps found out he had diabetes.  It took a while to get his insulin just right.  Then they had to adjust his special food (for his IBD) and insulin to get them to work together.  The Prednisone he takes for his IBD, made all of his curly hair go away but some is coming back.
Don't you all think he is just absolutely a most handsome fellow?
Mom just loves his mustache.

My sis bought a feeder with a timer on it. His daily food is dispensed at intervals 5 times a day to so that his blood sugar stays at the right level.  Harley is very brave and takes his insulin shot like a champ and several pills a day for his IBD!!
I'm happy to say Harley is now up to his regular weight of 11 pounds. He is feeling honky dory fine.  Running around the house  playing chase with his peeps and playing with his toys.

His is a very lucky boy to have such devoted peeps.  His favorite thing in the world is a big fluffy blanket just out of the dryer.
Thank you for letting me talk about this sweet boy.
Hugs Madi

  24. Oh he is sweet. So is he coming to visit you??

  25. Harley is very cute. We are glad that the vet found out what was wrong and got his meds sorted out. He is a brave kittyboy.

  26. Madi
Your cousin Harley has our admiration. The Vet tried to tell Mom I had IBD, but Mom does not believe that. Since I had that one episode several months ago she has been giving me slippery elm every day in my food. She uses it to make it more mooshey. I like mooshey. Mom does not think I had IBD but that my system can't tolerate any food changes, which is what she had done trying to get all of us to eat better quality food. All it did was make me very sick. Now she has me back on what I was eating (Meow Mix -- I know it's like kitty crack) but my body tolerates it well and the slippery elm. There is NO side effects to (organic)slippery elm and it solves digestion problems. Mom wonders if your cousin Harley did not take his medication would he have episodes of the IBD?

  27. oh Madi, thanks so much for sharing part of your family with us...sooo sweet! and I too love his mustache. I'm so glad that he has his eating under control and he's certainly got a lot of strngth to put up with all he's endured.
I hope you are doing okay Madi...

  28. Your human sissy takes excellent care for Harley...Sissy had a good teacher, you MOM!!!! :)
Don't hiss at anyone this weekend!

  29. Harley is a handsome guy, Madi. We're glad he has such devoted peeps to take care of him. Thanks for introducing him to us.

  30. Thank you for introducing us to the brave and handsome Harley. What wonderful people he has to take such care of him.

    Nubbin wiggles,

  31. That is one very cool mustache!
Harley is such a brave boy to go through all the treatments he needs to stay healthy. We are so glad to hear he is feeling better. Thanks for the update on his condition Madi, we hope he continues to improve and thrive.

    Kitty Kisses,
Cindi Lou and The Kitty Krew

  32. Poor guy! It's hard when you're sick and no one can figure out why. I'm glad they've got his health issues figured out.

Please leave a meow or bark for Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^=
Life is short, spend it with those who make you laugh
