Trains, K9 Friends & SILLY MOM TRICKS

Last Friday, April 27th was my Dad's 10th birthday
(MOL well at least that is what he told me).
Anyways the peeps spent Friday afternoon in Apex, NC at a
Live steam train thingy* (*a technical word I made up)
This is the back of our friend Mr. Joe.
He is giving my peeps a ride on his train
Mr. Joe's birthday was April 26!!

When they got home, Dad told  me how much fun he had.  Riding and driving Mr. Joe's train thingy.
He also told me something really funny that happened to Mom.
As you can see, I paid very close attention to Dad while he told me the funny story.
WARNING when you see the words
FUNNY PART, be sure to swallow whatever foodables or liquids you have in your mouth.
Pictures to follow.

It appears there were lots of woofies at the train thingy.  Of course mom took her flashy beast.
This is little guy looks just like my BFF Mr. Pip.  His peeps own the property where the train thingy was held.  He has his own special seat/cage so that he doesn't fall in the path of the GATOR.
This fellow is Sam he is a veteran train pooch.
His owner said when the train is going forward Sam faces forward
and when they back up Sam turns around.  Sam was kind enough to show Mom how he did it.
They think he might be part Rottie..look at is cute little Rottie tail
OMD this is Sasha and her Dad, Mr. Lee, my Dad's buddy.
Dad has been to Mr. Lee and Sasha's house so Sasha knows Dad......
and really likes him.  Mom's feelings were damaged because Sasha would hardly let Mom pet her.
She evidently likes men a lot.  Mr. Lee said she sticks to him like glue
 FUNNY PART
This is Mom FINALLY sitting in the engineer's seat;
Mr. Joe (on the right) is LOL
because as Mom was trying to straddle the seat
She lost her balance,  missing the seat
landing smack on top of the coal tender.  This is a picture
of her tush print in the coal dust.  Dad said she made quite an
IMPRESSION MOL MOL MOL!!! My Dad is so funny
My mom's middle name IS NOT
GRACE!!
And yes she had a black tush all afternoon and
had to go to supper like that.   Good news is it all
came out in the wash.
TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE SIZE OF THE TRAINS
MOM TOOK A PICTURE OF HER FEET AS SHE WAS RIDING
While Dad was the engineer
He did a really good job.

THE SHOW STARTED IN THE AFTERNOON ON  THURSDAY APRIL 26; HOWEVER THE DAY MOM AND DAD WENT APRIL 27th, WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS
HERE IS ONE OF THE PONDS ON THE 70 acre PROPERTY.

Mr. Joe giving Dad some engineer advice.
We don't know exactly how many miles of train tracks are on the property but Mr. Joe rode Mom and Dad around for nearly an hour.
DAD SAID IT WAS THE BEST B-DAY A GUY COULD HAVE!!
A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL
ALL ABOARD,
MADI AND MOM
************
MOM HERE:  WHILE MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS AT WAL-MART ON WEDNESDAY I OVERHEARD A CELL PHONE CONVERSATION A YOUNG MAN IN FRONT OF ME WAS HAVING.    EVIDENTLY HE WAS TRYING TO GET BACK IN GOOD
GRACES WITH A 'LOVED ONE'.  I NEARLY F(ell)O(n)T(he)F(loor)L(aughing)O(ut)L(oud) WHEN HE SAID, AND I QUOTE,

"I don't even know what HALLUCINATING means, how can I be doing it?!!
And to quote Jeff Foxworthy, "Here is your sign"!!

  19. I hope your mom remembered the old saying, "If you know you're going to laugh about this later, you might as well laugh about it now." Nice of Mom to entertain everyone at her expense! It does look like a fun day.

  22. Oh, poor Mom, Madi!!!!
    Hahahaha!
    We love this train!!!

  23. OMG, this whole thing is too funny. Poor Mom. The embarrassment. But our Mom would have totally missed the train trying to get on it. So don't feel bad Madi's Mom. That overheard conversation is really funny too. Amazing what the babies of our world don't know but that might just be a southern thing. Loved this post. Now our Mom wants to go for a train ride. She loves trains. Have a super weekend.

  24. Oh, what fun for all! Our mom says she knows that is just what she would have done too if she tried to get on that train:)

Good thing for that cage for that Pip lookalike. Mom knows a very sad story about a pup who was riding ona tractor on a human's lap. It didn't have a very happy ending. So we are very glad you friends family is so careful.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  30. Oh wow, now that is the proper way for a dad to spend his birthday. That train looks like lots of fun. Thanks Madi for the warning, we reminded our mom to put down her glass of water before she continued. That was funny, glad to hear the soot came out in the wash.

The cell phone line was a hoot! We're surprised everyone in the area didn't burst out laughing.
