SPRINGY JUNE SATURDAY

I'LL BE RIGHT HERE IN MY SUN PUDDLE WHILE MOM
SHOWS YOU ALL JUST HOW SPRING IS GOING.
AS LONG AS I HAVE A SUN PUDDLE I DON'T CARE WHAT SEASON IS HERE.

Dad has the green thumb in the family.  He bought this
pretty pot and the flowers separately and lo and behold
look at the pretty he made for our deck.

I know this is a rodent but what can I say mom thinks
Charley is adorable....and evidently Charley likes to pose.

This is actually a 'real' Carolina Wren house.
We have had it up for 10+ years.  This year is the first time
we've had residents!!!
MAMA WREN TAKING A BREAK FROM THE BABES BUT KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON THEM
Two Baby Chickadees.
Their mom nested in the
our Blue Bird house this year...
We had 4 eggs 2 hatched
MALE EASTERN BLUE BIRD AND MOM'S SECOND
FAVORITE
MOM'S FAVORITE BIRD IN ALL OF THE EASTERN USA
IS THE RUBY THROATED HUMMING BIRD
(the only hummer we have in Eastern NC)
IF YOU EVER FEEL THE EARTH MOVE BETWEEN
LATE MARCH AND MID APRIL...IT IS MOM
DOING HER HAPPY HUMMER DANCE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THEIR ARRIVAL

THE MALE RUBY THROATED ACTUALLY HAS THE
RUBY THROAT.

Last but not least......

    Mom got some wonderful photos.

You be a good Diva and relax in the sun puddles.

Your dad did a great job with the planter; maybe we can borrow him for an hour or two for our garden?

  11. Our Person saw our first chipmunk out at the barn finding the food that the cats eat out there. They are too cute. This one was fairly tame too. Those birds are our favorites too. We love the little chickadees. We don't have too many of them around here.Hope the Mom has a nice day off tomorrow.
And hope that Grandma is doing all right.

  15. Madi, if only you and your Mom could see how ferociously my tail is wagging at that picture of the chipmunk and at the thought of giving chase. Oh if only we had chipmunks in Scotland...
    Toodle pip!

  17. Your Carolina wren house is the best home for birds I saw - They are safe there and no one can destroy this house accidentally! I love your flower pot - That's my favorite color. Have a fabulous Caturday Madi&Mom

  19. Madi your flowers are beautiful. We love ALL of your Birds. ESP. the Hummers and the Eastern Bluebirds... they are two of OUR favorites.
WE chase Chipmunks... ALL the time... there are like 87,000 of them around our hill. We don't actually get REAL Squirrels.. butt around these parts Chipmunks are called GROUND Squirrels also... so THOSE are the kind of Evil Squirrels that WE CHASE.

  20. Your Dad did a great job on that planter of pretty flowers. Mom tried letting her planters out of jail, but somepup got hungry. So the fence went back up.

It must be so much fun watching those birds (we chuckled at the Good morning doves). Mom would love to have feeders here but she worries that we have too much interest in what flies through our yard:(

Tell Mom we hope tomorrow is a relaxing day and not more work for her.

  30. Awwwww, we love your post. Look at all those beautiful little birds and that plant. Daddy sure did good planting it.

We've not seen any Hummers here yet but we've got all our feeders up and all our Hummer plants planted. We do have ALOT of deer and every morning Mommy has to go out and pick up all the bird feeders and Hummer feeders off the ground. Those darn deer knock them down EVERY night to get to the food. Then they reached over the deck last night and ate part of our tomato plant! The nerve.....

We love your little Wren. They are always a joy to watch, especially when Mommy Wren goes in to feed them.

Enjoy your view outside girlfriend! You get to see it all.

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle & Muffin

  31. You have lots of lovely birds to watch on your Bird TV Madi.

  32. Those are some great pictures, Madi. We like that bluebird. The mom is sad because she hasn't seen any hummers yet, even though she has the feeder out. She thinks the neighbors are stealing all the hummers with their feeder. ;)

  33. Dad did a great job planting that container.

Charlie's Mississippi Cousin was in grave danger yesterday. My barn kitty Splotches narrowly missed him!
