Tuesday Tale AND AN INVITE

OMCs Mom thought she was going to have to put out an
An Amber Alert for me on Inaugural Morning....1/9/15

Every Friday my peeps go to Panera for breakfast....Being a cat, I too have a routine..I'm always on their bed in the morning.

Well here is what happened..
...before they leave to walk/or go to breakfast each morning, they always come in say say good bye... but Friday there was NO Madi.  Mom called for me a few times....normally when she does this I will come just to see if there is food being offered.  MOL  BUT not this time I didn't come.  So Mom knew I was probably trapped somewhere BUT WHERE?
Truth be told I'm  BAD for following the peeps into closets.  Once I was trapped in a closet once for 3 hours.  SO they rarely close the doors completely!  They checked all the closets, looked under, behind and around the house multiple times.  I heard mom shaking my treats but I was trapped dang it I missed extra food too.

Finally I heard Dad near by calling and it sounded like he was crawling  all over the floor in the guest bedroom.  Mom was frantically bellowing
M.....A.....D.....I

Dad said i heard MADI...she is in here somewhere. Mom called me Again and FINALLY she  heard my pitiful meoooow...coming from the chest of drawers here

MIND YOU THIS IS A REENACTMENT...NO WAY WAS I PAWTICIPAITING IN A
DO OVER!!

MOM OPENED THE DRAWER TO FIND THIS

SO MOM'S STORY IS AND SHE IS STICKING TO IT
she uses the chest of drawers for surplus storage.  She was in the drawer earlier, when it was still dark,  She didn't know I followed her.  She turned away briefly. She says I must have jumped  the drawer.  Then she shut the drawer (still dark) and she didn't see me.  Thank goodness the section I was in deep otherwise I would have had a bump on my noggin when she
closed the drawer!!

When Mom opened that drawer, I gave her a long I hope you feel guilty Mom meoooow, stood up stretched and shook then jumped out.  THEN YOU GUESSED IT I SASHAYED into the den to wash off the drawer cooties.  Dad said to one of us not sure who that episode was worth several demerits.
I'm purrty sure he was talking to MOM!!
This saga went on for 30 minutes...it was noisy and scary and I hope Mom
learned her lesson to be careful.  After all, she is suppose to be a responsible ADULT!!

I welcome  your comments about this injustice!!

  4. OMD Madi, that is TERRIBLE!! We've heard stories of similar things happening here with our sister-cats butt we thought they were just stories they made up to show how tough they are.
We hope you got lots of treats to make up for that traumatic incident.

  6. It's a good thing your humans looked for you before they left - otherwise, you would have been stuck in there for MUCH longer!

  13. Oh my gosh, Madi, I know those drawers are nice and warm, but they are way too small for us kitties. Take it from me, Rosie, I did the same thing once and gave my peeps heart failure.

  14. Oh My Madi what an ordeal you all went through, I cant believe that your Momma trapped you in the drawer! No wonder you gave off a big Mew and ran to wash off the drawer cooties, having Madi furs all over the drawer is the smallest price that your Momma will have to pay for her neglect of shoving you in the drawer (BOL) as well as her huge feelings of guilt! This story did make me laugh though, it reminds me of the time I was trapped in the wash basket! I'm excited for the Valentines dance too, great idea by our new Mayors! Love and Licks from your furiend Frank xxxxxx

  15. Now the question i have is how in the world did she close that drawer with out catching your head in it.. you must have laid down immediately when jumping in... OMC is right.. my next question is Did you learn your lesson? does this mean you will never ever jump in a drawer again? Me thinks NOT.. MOL MOL

...crikey... and there I was thinking you lived in a good home... MOL, seriously though, look at all the efforts made to recover you Madi... Not that you shouldn't shake them down for an extra cuddle or treat mind you, to settle the shock you understand... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  17. OMD...Madi! You poor wittle ting! Lucky your wittle head (or tail) didn't get chopped off when Mom shut the drawer. That would probably happen to me BUTT I can't jump that high.

  22. Demerits? Gosh, is there such a thing? Because if so, we bet someone's getting some. (Those are bad things, right? Why doesn't anyone tell us such things??)

  23. Wow! I feel so bad for your mom and you!!! So glad there's a happy ending. :) Fox is very sneaky and I have to shake some food to find him at times. :)

  26. Uhoh.....I think this is grounds for a lawsuit - cruel and unusual treatment? Cat abuse? Something awful I'm SURE! I bet your Mom was worried when she couldn't find you and no doubt you were just a bit upset to be "locked in jail" in the drawer! Glad things worked out......but I still think a lawsuit isn't a half bad idea!

  28. MOL MOL! Sampson did that once. Scared Mom and Dad to death!!! Drawers seem like cool places to hang out, until they get shut while you're inside!

  29. Poor Madi, what an ordeal. I don't think you need demerits, you deserve treats.

  30. Poor Madi! It's a good job your peeps looked for you before they went out.

  31. OMC, Madi, what a traumatic experience. You should have gotten lots of treats to help make up for the terrible error of locking you in there!

  34. OMD Madi! It's a good thing your pawrents know you are a creature of habit and should have been on the bed when they first went looking for you. Maybe your mom will learn to turn on the lights in a room before opening a drawer or door to a closet. We're happy you were found safe and sound.
