Tuesday things!!!

Once again a very pleasant nap was rudely interrupted when mom plops this in front of me, asking, "Madi do you know what this is?"
I closed my eyes gave it another sniff...still I had nuttin'!!
Well here is what it is and clearly Mom has way too much
time on her hands!!

MAD SNAPPER I BET YOU LOVE THIS JAR...!!

OK warning this is kinda weird and has nothing to do with ME MADI the Diva.  When mom is informed, she feels a need to inform
E V E R Y O N E.

Last Monday when the peeps  returned from walking, Mom opened the fridge (9 years old) to be welcomed by a warm breeze! Mom looked at the thermostat it read 57 degrees. WHAT.  It was fine when she got  milk out for (our) her Cheerios at 7 am!  The freezer reading was still 0.  So she figured it was just the fridge. She  noticed the top shelves of the fridge and sides were warm to the touch.  But why? Dad had just left for an eye appt.  needless to say Mom was freaking out....SHE WAS RUNNING TO AND FRO moving everything out to the garage fridge (20+ years old and still chugging along).
Late Monday afternoon the fridge started cooling down gradually‼️  That was just plain weird!    GE repair came Tuesday afternoon.  When Mom told repairman about the shelves feeling warm,  he said I know exactly what it is.  You will never believe what caused it this fiasco...the light switch in the fridge was going bad.

Evidently when they are going bad it is intermittent. Between breakfast and 10 am the light in the fridge did not turn off...it heated up the fridge. We  have no idea what triggered it to come back on like it did.  We sure are glad that didn't happen when the peeps were away.
All a okay now!
Good news is the fridge got a good cleaning while empty.

FRIENDS THANK YOU FOR YOUR INDULGENCE...
I WILL TRY TO KEEP MOM FROM DOING THIS AGAIN!!!

  1. I am glad that your fridge is ok now as it is a very impawtant thing to have. I love your fur jar, I could sniff you all day and maybe dream about us playing. Guess what?? Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I think it was your Dads also. What a very good day for pawrents to be born.

  2. Fur in a jar....hmmmmmmmmm. Maybe she'll knit something for you....a little catnip pouch of Madi fur.

Never heard about the fridge light causing the fridge to heat up...new one here. We don't even know if we have a light come to think of it...

  4. Whew, that was a close one! Our Mommy hates, loathes, and despises appliance trubbles.
We think it's neat that your Mommy saves your furs, Madi. Shows just how precious she thinks you are.
Happy Tuesday to our favorite tuxie girl.

Crikey - a KNOWN fault? I got visions of electrocutions and all sorts now.... The fridge I inherited with the flat must be about 15 years old if it is a day and is quite heavy on the power - but it is working treat... no need to thing about changing if the newbies have inbuilt heating faults!!!

You should be honoured Madi - mum wants to keep ALL of you!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  12. Hi Madi! That is weird about the frig; thanks to your mom for sharing so if it happens to us, we'll know! I bet the birds would love to line their nests with your pretty and soft fur! I tease my husband and brother that I will make them a cat fur toupe!!!

  13. There was just something on our news about a young couple out west with the same kind of fridge issue, only it ended up being much, much worse and it took jumping through hoops (plus going public about an issue that's been happening to many) for the company to actually replace the fridge. We're glad your issue has been resolved!

As for the fur jar, our mom thinks that's a great idea. She has a baggie with some of our furs that she collected years ago, but she doesn't add to it. She likes the jar idea better!

  20. Hmmm. maybe some spinning is in the future for your beautiful furs, Madi. We have a very old freezer in our garage, an upright full sized front door opening bought in 1974 when Mom and Dad bought their first house. It works like a charm. Next to it is a newer refrigerator/freezer combo that the Momster moved to the garage when she got a new one for the kitchen. When it gets below 40 degrees in the garage, the freezer part of it won't work, but the 1974 edition keeps on keeping on:) They don't make 'em like they used to.

  25. Hey Madi!
Wow, your Mom is canning and saving your furs! That's a cool idea and I'll ask my Dad about saving mine. He can get bunches of it out of the vacula. BOL/MOL Gosh, glad your chiller box is okay...that's where all the tasty foodables hang out. :)

  26. Lol. Well, it wasn't me, Ruby or even Rosie. I'm guessing the freezer mishap was caused by the youngest member of the house OR the border collie (as in the only guy in the house) neither one is admitting it!!

  34. OMC! Now the mom is getting ideas of keeping our furs in a jar too.

A while back, our fridge went on the fritz and the peeps had to get a new one. Ever since that, the mom is paranoid about the fridge and is afraid it's gonna die.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Your peeps are lucky they had a spare fridge to put all their stuff in.

  36. Mom has a little box with our and our sister cat and our angel brother's baby teeth. She can be very "special" sometimes.
Now about your fridge - we allowed mom to read that part of your post and her reaction was: "how bizarre" followed by " who knew the fridge light was so hot?"
