Y O U T H:  young state; early life

I'M TOLD
IN MY YOUTH I WAS A WILD CHILD
FRIENDS DO I LOOK LIKE A WILD CHILD
Thankfully way back in 2002 when the following event was
said to have happened.  Mom did not own
a digital camera so there there is no proof just
speculation and accusation.  The re-enactment is done
with current photos of me being placed where it is
alleged to have happened.
Supposedly, when I was 6 months old, I would sit at
this very place on the stairs
(Bare in mind I was smaller than in this picture)
The speculation is I was somehow
able to position myself in such a fashion
and with great calculation so that I was able

to jump through the stair rails landing on the top of grandfather clock.

When Dad walked in the front door.
I was so excited I MOL'd ....
evidently Dad was not so 'excited' about this he could hardly wait to tell mom.

Supposedly there were some itty bitty kitty tooth marks found on the finial!!  In my defense, I reminded them I was not the first
kitty to live here...maybe the tooth marks were his!!??
They never saw me do this but I was seen sitting here staring longingly at the clock....many times. I was found on
top of the clock many more times.  There is no stopping a
determined kitty.  Finally, they had to cover the top of the clock
in a quilt secured with THE UNIVERSAL SECURITY
DUCT TAPE!!!
 AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS OF
SEARCHING MOM FOUND .....
A MAGAZINE BASKET MADE TO FIT ON STAIRS. IT IS
 PLACED RIGHT AT MY
LAUNCHING PAD!!!
THIS BASKET HAS BEEN SITTING HERE SINCE 2002.
If I had thumbs, I'd move that basket
and show mom I that I can still do it!!

  1. Hard to imagine that you were wild; like you say, just accusation!!! No proof that those teeth marks are indeed yours!!! In his younger years, Ditto cat would jump from the top of the china cabinet to the chandelier at our previous home. One night the screws holding the chandy into the sheetrock came out and the lamp was swinging by the wires!!!!!! yikes!

  2. First of all, we're sure you could jump up there. The Front Yard Cats do some very spectacular jumping on OUR trees and stuff. And we think that clock could have had woodworm....

SHE bought some bedside tables and was asked if SHE wanted them stressed. Naturally SHE asked what that was and they said they hit the wood with chains and stuff to make them look old. SHE said we'd stress them enough, so SAVED some MONEY there. We think Madi was just trying to stress the clock for you.

  8. We got Baby in 2002, Feb and she was 10 months old and a really wild child. the first 3 months every time we opened the front door she leaped out and ran in the street and up and down and out in front of cars... we asked the rescue place what to do, they said get her another dog... we did and she never ran away again.
THAT SAID... if you were ALLEGEDLY jumping on that clock, the answer SHOULD have been
ANOTHER CAT not a magazine rack.... Just Sayin...MOL MOL MOL

  12. OhMYGosh so funny Madi! Little teef marks on the finial. Hoomins will usually find a way to deter a determined kitty... LOL!

  13. Hee hee hee We got to give Mom credit for solving the "launching kitty syndrome"!!
She was just protecting your from falling way, way down!
I don't think Milky Way would have done such acrobatics as you!

  16. Of course it was not your teeth marks Madi. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Why would your mom do that? Who cares if teeth marks and scratches are on the top of the clock? The tall clock is an awesome piece of property from which to survey your territory.

  18. All lies. We kittehs are always innocent. Even when we aren't.

  19. Madi, surely those tooth marks were not from you. The very idea that you would do such a thing!! I think it is very athletic of you to get up there and maybe it is best if you don't do it anymore. I wouldn't want you to get a booboo. The reenactment photos are wonderful.

  21. WE think you were TOTALLY accused in a False Manner.... Surely there were WOODPECKERS that had done the Damage...YOU were THERE ... TRYING to PAWTECT the Clock from Further Damage.... and that is our FINIAL Answer.

  22. We can't believe they took your jumping spot away! We are sure you could push that basket over. If not, Hailey would be happy to come over and eat it.

  23. I bet you could still do it :) No kitty has ever gotten on top of our clock, but it is in a bad sot for them to get to it.

  24. I thinks this is a case for Ernie the Attorney!!!! Falsely accused with NO PROOF!! Did your Moms do any toother comparisons??? NO! Did she do DNA testing to see if the slobbers were YOURS?? NO! Did they actually SEE you do this amazin' feat???? NO!!! Pfffffffft! If the toothers don't fit...you must acquit!!! Just sayin'...

  30. MOL, Madi. I am LOL cause I saw my big boy Lucky maneuver onto a small table filled with photos. And then jump to a small chifforobe that has 3 nice vases on top. Needless to say I made him haul rump off of there before he could break one of the vases.
