Mom has been eating something that smells mighty good....
AND SHE DID NOT SHARE!!!
DEMERITS ARE IN ORDER
The other day she had something on her left wrist..OMCs it nearly drove me insane licking it and sending it to my *Jacobson organ trying to identify it. Evidently Jacobson needs
a software update!! All my search data came back 'cannot identify'!!
* For those who don't know.....Cats are equipped with a very special piece of equipment
known as the Jacobson's organ
or vomeronasal organ. Located in the roof of the mouth, it contains ducts that lead to
the mouth and to the nose. This is essentially a scent analyzer
You cannot see my mouth but this is what I was doing and I close my eyes about 1/2 too
If you ever see a feline friend with his/her mouth slightly opened like this and possibly drooling a tad,
they are sending something to Jacobson.
That is it for today' edition of Madi's Miscellneous Mews

another thing we have butt humans haven't... I've read that this fab thingy is there butt sleeps inside of humans... maybe that is the reason that they only rarely share good things?
ReplyDeleteWe cats are so special.....we've got a way cool organ that identifies scents for us so we stay safe (and find yummy treats easily). Thanks for telling the world about one MORE way we are SUPER SPECIAL!

ReplyDeleteThat is a sky look you have on your face, Madi! Now we are all curious as to what Mom was eating! Did it smell like chocolate?! Peanut butter?! Vanilla ice cream?!
ReplyDeleteColor us curious as cats, Molly and Kathy

ReplyDeleteWow, Madi, we didn't know you cats had a Jacobson organ, it is like a superpower!
ReplyDeleteWe can see by the look on your face you are not particularly pleased Mom is not sharing with you, bad mom!
Cricket should be about 16 or 17 inches to the shoulder. Elliot is 8 inches to the shoulder so she will be roughly twice as tall as he is. Quite small for a whippet, most of them are around 19 - 23 inches high but both her mum and dad were small too.

Are you going to go to school, Madi? We love your new header:)
