Feline and Nature Friday with

Nature Friday host LLB Gang  and Feline Friday  host Comedy Plus

Dearest Auntie HiC!!

The days are getting warmer here in Colorado, and the hummingbirds are plentiful❣️

Hey Mom, can I go outside?

I like to spend time outside, watching and trying to identify the different hummers.

During spring migration, Colorado has 11 different species of hummingbirds!
This is a good article about northern migration in Colorado.

This is a pair of broad-tailed hummers. We’ve also seen black-chinned, and ruby-throated. Mom squeals with delight every time she recognizes a different species.

Mom says she also enjoys watching me watch the hummers, ha! We’re a wild and crazy bunch❣️

Quick, up-close peek of a black-chinned male. He sounds happy❣️

Love from your nephew

Dearest Nephew Kat
OMKs...Auntie is overJOYED with the video and photo of the hummers.  I could never in my wildest dreams imagine seeing that many varieties of hummers.  I do so thank you and Mom for sharing this wonderful sighting.  Sending loads of hugs.
Lovingly your Auntie HiC

  1. wow that was great, we wish we had hummingbirds too... but if they even are in CO, they sure would like our area..

  2. Sounds like Kat and his family are having a lovely trip.

  3. The hummers are so beautiful and we never knew there were so many different kinds! Love your new blog look, Miss Cecilia!

  4. Hummingbirds are super interesting. Mom says she used to see them a lot as a kid, but hasn't seen any in years.

  5. Hari OM
Wow, I also didn't know there quite that many species - you are very lucky to have Bird TV, Kat! Hugs and whiskerie,s YAM-aunty xxx

  6. Kat you are for sure studying those hummers very intensely. I love your beautiful green eyes.

  7. We love watching our hummers too and wish we had that many kinds to see too.

  8. Kat, life is good! A little outside time and watching hummers. Sounds like the perfect day. Enjoying your videos and it's nice to see your darling Fuzz Face!

  9. I have never seen a hummer but have seen a lot of photos, but never even a photo of a broad tail humming bird. and had no idea there are that many different types of them... so glad you could spent time outside Kat and thanks for showing us what you see

  10. I love watching the hummers feed and fight. We have six large feeders on our patio in the summer months. Every other day we have to fill them as we have so many birds. We love them so. Thanks for sharing yours with us, Kat.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Big hug to your Auntie. ♥

  11. We love hummingbirds! Haven't seen any around our yard yet.

  12. Wow! We only get one kind of hummingbird in Massachusetts. XO

  13. Beautiful!!! We love the hummers. Mom got some red flowers today to see if that will help attract them to our feeder. And of course, they are behind the no-sibe fence.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  14. Cute kitty- love your header and we only have Anna's hummers here....but LOTS of woodpeckers! Have a great day!

  15. I love seeing the hummingbirds. I haven’t seen any here yet. ~Ernie

  16. Hummingbirds are so much fun. We have a feeder in the middle of the garden. The garden has a fence to keep the deer out and it also keeps the cats out! The Hummers divebomb us when the feeder needs refilling. I can't believe how fast they can suck it dry! Love the video, and I bet the cats are enjoying the 11 different varieties! Thanks for you kind words on Nellie's post. I know those two will be having fun.

  17. We haven't seen any hummers here yet but it's not at all unusual for us to see them by our front porch. Mom has lots of red flowers on the porch and they cruise right up to the big pots and are just a few feet away. They are so beautiful (the hummers and the flowers!).

    Hugs, Teddy

  18. We hadno idea there was more than one kind of hummingbird!

  19. Oh I LOVE it. We generally have just the Ruby Throated here.

  20. Oh Kat, what beautiful hummers! Mama never lets us look at the ones we have on the front porch...something about our barks scaring them away, BOL!
