Serene Sunday and PLATES

Oh my it has been a month of Sundays since I had a PLATE post.  For any new readers, I am a lover of words.  NC seems to have a lot of vanity license plates which I used to write down to share at least once a week.  Over the last year we haven't be out and about very much.  I haven't had any to share; however, that is about to change.  * by a plate means I can't figure out it's meaning.  Photos today were taken at Shelley Lake and the around Lead Mine Lake neighborhood.

  1. 4. NO3PUTT* is most likely a number 3 golf putter.

  3. Number six read out phonetically reads like Fly HGV and HGV stands for Heavy Goods Vehicle in the UK and basically means Truck. It might be a British truck driver?

  5. Stunning photos, I'm new to your blog and love the plates, look forward to checking out your other posts, our number plates are so boring in the UK, basically you get what you're given, unless you pay for a personalised plate, but those are mahoosivly expensive and can be several thousands of pounds

    wooohooooooooo me's here!!!

#4 - as mentioned above it relates to a golf putting trainer
#6 - That is a flight code for TUI, between Barcelona and Antwerp... but other than that...
#8 - a term that might be derogatory, or certainly egotistical. Read four definitions here.
#12 - mostly that comes up as a stock number for various products... OR a staffer at Medium dot com, whose name may turn out to be Carolyn Leno (her url byline is cleno1).
#13 - think "spy right"... They are drones.
#14 - Nine Dragons is a video game.
#15 - or they are a member of the British Womens Institute.
    #18 - nope, it's a Star Wars reference - See here.
#19 - they promote or favour one or other of carwax, footwear or vitamins. Take your pick!

Oh that was fun to be back researching plates on a Sunday!!! YAM xx

  8. I am histerical with laughter over Yams answer and answer and answer and answer... I hve yet to see a vanity plate here and you have so many interesting ones. Of course i rarely go out of the house and that could be the reason. also when I do got out I am driving because I refuse to ride with a wannabee Ernhardt behind the wheel. love the photos

  9. We love the pictures and always enjoy reading all those vanity plates. NO3PUTT is definitely related to golf. It's expected that it should only take 2 strokes to sink a putt so nobody wants to 3 putt.

  10. Those were fun plates, we've missed them. NO3PUTT is a avid golfer. The purrfect goal is no more that 2 putts on any green, so no 3 putts!

  11. For some reason we haven't seen many personalized plates around here lately. Maybe because we haven't exactly been going anywhere except for grocery shopping or work.

It was a surprise to see those ducks in your picture! LOL!
