Today I join Thankful Thursday
in honor of Dolly, matriarch of Brian's Home host of Thankful Thursday
I am thankful to have known Beautiful Dolly and for her family for sharing her with us. She was full of grace and kindness
Dear Friend to all
Oh those eyes the color of sea glass
Lovely
Lady full of class
You dear one will be so very much missed but never forgotten
Here is today's inspiration
I studied this picture a LOT. Trying to get my mind's eye to open wide and to see what it Sees. As a rule I just can't do fantasy. I have to really see something.
Angel Sammy I thank you for this challenge!!
Lush and green
a cool running stream
My mind's eye moves back and forth
All of a sudden, a lady
standing by the cauldron
my mind's eye did see.
I asked myself
what could the cause be?
There was a glow in the night
Fairy dust falling around her
Her shape formed by glistening
from the fire light
*******************
I really and truly see a form of some kind by the cauldron.
we love the poem... and we wonder what da lady cooks.... ;O)))
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely tribute to Dolly.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a spooky poem today.
You are right about a form by the cauldron, but I see a giant hedgehog or raccoon.

ReplyDelete...yes, I see her too!!! YAM xx
We see the lady too and your poem is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI did not see the form until after I read your poem and there is a form. wow.. purrfect tribute for precious Dolly
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Dolly but I love that you love her so much to write such a beautiful tribute to her. She looks like a long haired version of our Holly. My first cat that Jerry gave me right before we were married. I look at Dolly's sweet face and I feel like I know her. I am so sorry she is gone.
ReplyDeleteI see the lady. Your poem is awesome and I so look forward to the things you see with your Mind's Eye. And who doesn't love the idea of fairy dust?!
What a sweet and wonderful tribute to Angel Dolly. Me and dad are still trying to get over her crossing. Dad says this photo reminds him of a book he just started reading titled "A Green and Ancient Light".
ReplyDeleteWe were all so sad to hear that Dolly had gone to The Bridge. Your poem is great, and we think we see someone by the cauldron too.
ReplyDeleteDolly's tribute is purrfect. And as for the cauldron, I see the figure ...but my first thought was "I could live here. Far away from the maddening crowd"!!
ReplyDeleteC; you did very well with this poem, for not having a "knack" for fantasy !
ReplyDelete984 paws UP ☺☺
and I know Terry will cherish your tribute ♥♥
I'm sorry to hear about Dolly. My sympathies to her family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful poem today...and I also see a misty firgure and wonder if she is good, or evil!
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute to Miss Dolly today...she will be truly missed!
That is a fabulous poem! I can see something by the cauldron too AND I saw something in the woods as well - on the right side of the picture.....it's a rather magical little painting and it sure made a good subject for poetry this week....WELL DONE and thanks for "letting" it inspire you.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
Oh such a wonderful and precious tribute post to Dolly ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you lots of love and laughter in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A creative Harbor)
I always enjoy your poems.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Sister Dolly going to the bridge. So sad. I've had leaky eyes more than once.
I'm also happy Dad Terry got through his surgery well and is back home.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Big hug, honey. ♥
We feel so bad for Terry, losing his precious Dolly.
ReplyDeleteCool poem. We don't see the form, but feel sure it is there!
Yes, I see the lady too. But not until you mentioned her, and I took a closer look. I wonder if we were supposed to see her, or if it was a case of pareidolia? Loved the poem. So sad about your friend Dolly. Seems there has been a LOT of sadness lately with dear friends crossing the bridge. We just heard about our friend Pinot who lived across Lake Ontario from us.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. I saw the cauldron too. :) XO
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute to sweet Dolly.
