Hari OM Black-eyed Susans; I think how it works is they attract the bigger (better?) polinators that gnosh on the mozzies (or their larvae) - such as dragonflies. Other good repllent plants are things like lavender, rosemary, and lemon balm. And they are pretty too! YAM xx
I know this is going to be hard to belive but I have not been bitten by any skeeters since we moved to Florida. I don't go out after sunset if I can help it. I have been bitten by No-See-Ums and ants. I love Black-eyed Susans
I don't get bitten by those nasty skeeters as much as poor David does.....he gets huge welts from them. We both have Type O blood and that's their fave snack!
Mosquitos are evil, known to carry, in various parts of the world, everything from malaria to heartworms. We're glad to hear that nature has created something to repel them!
Please leave a meow or bark for Angel Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^= Life is short, spend it with those who make you laugh “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” (Leo F. Cecilia and Gail have something in common. Did you know Gail even picked up a couple of mosquito bites during her recent trip to Dunoon!
ReplyDeleteI am the same, I get bitten by everything going! The horse flies are the worst though and there seems to be an abundance of them this year.

Mom bought Black-eyed Susans for the garden in the spring. It looks like she chose well!
ReplyDeleteThey like me too. Right now, I have a dozen ant bites on my leg.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the flowers would grow in our garage, it is FULL of skeeters and bob can't even work out there, the heat is also a problem
ReplyDeleteOh I love 'em and like you have going on there, , the skeeters here totes loves me!
ReplyDeleteI love the black eyed Susans...not the skeeters!
ReplyDeleteWe need them too!!!
ReplyDeleteWith the Texas drought...no skeeters!! They're lying in wait for the first rainfall. I read that marigolds are good bug deterents.

Our dad is a skeeter magnet, but our mom isn't. We pups don't get bothered by them much but we do hate those biting flies!
ReplyDeleteI agree my yard should be covered in those!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had many mosquitoes around here so far this summer. I guess because it's been really dry.
ReplyDeleteI need some too. :) XO
ReplyDeleteThose would be useful here too!
ReplyDeleteMosquitos tend to prefer Grandpa and Aunt Ally to my momma and Grandma.
