Thankful to Nephews and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday#95

hosted by the four felines at Brian's Home

Today I want to thank  my adorable Nephews,
Kat, Pup and Rocky and their mom, Kit, and dad, David
for this most beautiful gift.  OMCs each time we drive up the driveway this sweet flag will be the first thing we see.

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

at Two Spoiled Cats

Thank you to Angel Sammy for finding the best photos that always inspire us.

When I was little, I might have slouched.
Daddy tried his best to make me stand straight
No matter his efforts my posture made him a grouch.
He gave me one last warning stand straight
Or down your back a rod will go.
I realized if I stood straight
I might look taller.
Daddy's determination to make me stand tall worked;
however,  I never made it to 5'8".

  1. That is a lovely flag! You would have to walk very straight with all those pots on your head!!

That garden flag is beyond wonderfurs! ... and that pic and your words remind me of etiquette classes that were introduced at my school. We had to all walk around with books on our heads... YAM xx

  4. I love the picture of The Upside Down Rocky and the flag is absolutely perfect for your yard what could be better than a a kitty cat reindeer to welcome everyone! I have had a dowager's hump since I was a teenager of course it was much much smaller than and now that my spine is curving it's even worse and that's part of my problem at the computer because my curving spine makes my shoulder slim forward and they do affect your back pain. So it's a good thing your dad made you stand up straight

  8. What a beautiful flag for your garden. We think that little tush is Rocky's too. BOL! BTW Thanks for your comments about the train. Our mom worked off and on for 9 months to make the train, but she also worked on a few other projects in between so it wasn't a straight 9 months of working. She just wanted to make sure it was completed by Christmas. The engine took the longest as there are lots of little parts that go into finishing it.

  9. The garden flag looks so pretty. I think it would get blown away in the wind we've had lately. In fact, there were announcements on the News for people to take down their inflatable type Christmas decorations until this weather passes.

Love the kitties in the stockings picture! And the poem is great! LOL!

  10. Great poem! I was a sloucher and I was always hearing "stand up straight" and "smile"... I guess I didn't smile. I only made it to 5 foot 4. The flag is so cute, a very thoughtful gift. That's an awful cute ginger tushie!

  16. I love your poem! My Dad was a "stand up straight-shoulders back" kind of guy and I heard that almost daily. I deserved it though - I felt a little awkward being taller than most of my friends so I'd "shrink" by slouching. Anyway, to this day I can hear him say "stand up straight" and immediately do! That garden flag is really gorgeous...............

    Hugs, Pam
