January
Cold mornings followed by blue clear skies
or is it clear blue skies?
or is it clear blue skies?
Pleasant afternoon walks to my delight.
Trees standing tall, branches bare
Leaves covered yards now
blown to the curb.
Stretching for blocks some neatly piled high
Lining the streets on both sides
As cars pass, they blow everywhere
Soon the city will have their leaf sucking monsters
slowly driving down all the streets
Good bye to the leaves and all the trees
January 27, 2014 Feline Flashback
Oh we loved joining a walk down your leaf-strewn streets, and also loved the flashback to Madi so comfy on her splendid new bed!
ReplyDeletethat was great!!! our trees are all gone too... in a collecting box... we would love to have en event they celebrate in sweden... knut, where they throw the trees out of the windows LOL
ReplyDeleteThat (clear) blue sky is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can hear the rustle of the leaves created as the cars pass by!!! Nice.

ReplyDeleteOh yes - a perfect offering for the first Final Friday of the year!!! YAM xx
Beau says his mama doesn't use the flashy thing, but if she does he now knows how to block it. when the leaf sucker cometh, get photos, I want to see what it looks like. we have to put them in a big blue container marked yard trash. Bob mulches ours so it doenst matter. i love the view of the street lined with leaves. make me want to jump in and kick my feet. Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteI wish our Januaries (spelling?) were that beautiful and clear--and free of snow and ice!
ReplyDeleteAngel Madi, that bed looked SO cosy. ♥
Enjoyed your poem and pictorial of leaves from trees! Sweet Madi♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely missive on a walk through the neighborhood. We wish we could get some blue skies around here. Such a sweet memory of Miss Madi.
ReplyDeleteThe clear blue sky is just gorgeous and thankfully, the towns we drive through have already vacuumed up all of the leaves at the curb. I wonder why yours waits so long?
ReplyDeleteMom forgot about those leaf sucking trucks. We love seeing Angel Madi.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sonnet C!! So many leaves, so little time!
ReplyDeleteHugs and Happy Weekend!

ReplyDeleteWe always love those Carolina Blue skies! Such sweet flashbacks!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures and description. I thought Final Friday was an Ice Cube movie.
ReplyDeleteWOW - impressive piles of leaves at the street......we don't have that option but our landscaper blows all our leaves into our woods instead. Blue skies always make us happy ! Love the flashback of Angel Madi in that very very cool bed!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
Your streets, with the leaf piles, look like ours, but a few month ago. We're dealing with piles of snow now. The snow plow has been around and cleared the roads, but the sidewalk plow hasn't been seen yet.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see your kitty angel Madi!
