Another splendid view of the Blue Ridge Mountains
One of the activities during vacation was to attend a play at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, VA
Love was all around us.

Thanks to YAM for fueling my urge to crochet
True confession I did not crochet any squares the first 3 weeks of September. Below is a photo of
what I've completed thus far. I took 4 out of the line up.
The squares were 7" but due to heavier yarn and stitches I used the squares were too large.
I am currently working to replace them.

The mountains are stunning
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view of the mountains.
ReplyDeleteI wish I liked to try to crochet, it would give me something to do, but the few times I tried it, my frustration levels went very high.. keep on crocheting with Yam...
ReplyDeleteWe love love love the Blue Ridge Parkway - we are not that far from Skyline Drive and visit as often as we can. Love your squares! I think I told you my sister is now crocheting vs. quilting too!

ReplyDeleteI admit I have not crocheted anything for nearly two months - making the most of our good weather and visiting has taken my focus. I love your squares and look forward to seeing more... you could use the same yarns but a smaller hook to get the correct size. Also be aware that the more you practice, the more your natural tension will 'find itself' so you may be naturally a tighter or a looser worker - take note of that. Most of all, have fun! YAM xx
Your Blue Ridge Mountains are just beautiful and your crocheted squares are coming along nicely.
ReplyDeleteLove that sky photo I'm glad you had such great weather for it. I see what you mean about the size of the yarn makes your squares not evenly matched. But it does give you extra opportunity to practice doesn't it. They all look so very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI like the wolf in the middle of the O in the word Love. Sometimes you need a break from things you're working on. You've got a lot of the squares completed.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice post to wake up to! Symmetry, Blue Ridge Mountains and your stitches!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, C.
Beautiful. Well we all have had to change gears and go another route at some point in our crafting.
ReplyDeleteThere sure was a lot of beauty to see on your trip. It's good to hear you are stitching again. You will soon have enough squares for an afghan.
