Downtown's Fish Walk program showcases 14 statues throughout the areas featuring different fish species painted by local artists, Willie Baucom Lambert and Keith Lambert. Fish Walk brochures are available at the Crystal Coast Visitor Center, Sanitary Restaurant and Carteret County Chamber of Commerce. Pick yours up and enjoy learning about the sea life found in coastal North Carolina waters as you cruise around downtown. #welovewherewelive
We only saw a few...while walking on near the dock
Propeller Christmas Wreath at Sanitary Fish Market
I really liked this too bad it was so H E A V Y (MOL MOL)
Tomorrow,
I will post info on how Sanitary Fish Market got its name.

I love how coastal towns have their own special vibe. This artwork is extremely creative & unique. When we camped in Newfoundland many years ago, I bought old lobster traps at roadside flea market. Decorated them with Christmas lights. Funky & festive!😉
ReplyDeleteIs there an unsanitary fish market?
ReplyDeleteMy thought as well!! 😆
Deletethat is wonderful... it is like warm welcome for guests and the people who live there...

ReplyDeleteGood way to learn fish species! YAM xx
The fish statues are lovely, and good to walk around to find them.
ReplyDeleteLove the art and the wreath!
ReplyDeleteThe artwork is impressive, and dad says reading this (and our current weather) makes him long for the beaches of Wilmington more than ever.
ReplyDeletethis looks a lot like our downtown area. Awesome place to visit. ha ha on how heavy, or we would have had more photos. and you had bright sunshine to enhance the photos.. agree with smudge, impressive artwork
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Sometimes we wish we lived closer to a beach.......we just can't do long drives any longer even though Virginia DOES have some pretty beach areas. Sigh. Oh well - we ARE close to the mountains though!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
The post painted with a fish are just incredible. Lovely artwork to see you when you're walking around. I won't be walking around today, it's 19 right now and going to drop to 5 this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting artwork. Those would be fun to see. That is a neat wreath. I'm curious about the name Sanitary fish market. That's a rather odd name.
ReplyDeleteWe love finding things like these fish. The propeller wreath is a super fun idea for a wreath in that area.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your share

🎇much love
How wonderful to see those, and the propeller wreath! Very creative, all great photo ops!
ReplyDeleteA lovely walk downtown. I would love a propeller... would not be hard to find around my little bit of the world.
ReplyDeleteI like the statues. Jackson had catfish sculptures scattered thru town one time. Also, a smaller town in Mississippi had carrousel horses.
ReplyDeleteI really like the wreath. Very creative.
What cool art you found walking around there.
