Nature and Feline Friday with my grand kitty

  Nature Friday host LLB Gang

We have been subscribing to Our State Magazine for at least 45 years.
We are always amazed by the variety of articles and the covers are exquisite.
Below is our May edition.

The caption on the cover describes the alpacas as Party Animals
Describes them as affable, alpacas.  Meet Max, Hercules, and Casanova
they live at Winchester Creek Farm in Waynesville, NC.  The beautiful NC are in the background

Alpacas first arrived in US from the Andes in 1984, and now North Carolina is home to more that 5,000 of them.  Young alpacas are called crias.  They are socialized early along side their Moms.

Recently Harper, Frisco and Mia had a pet sitter for 2 days and nights.

When my daughter and son in law returned home this is

where they found Harper.

These are glass pumpkins.. MY daughter captioned the picture

Harper in the Pumpkin Patch.

HAPPY TO SAY THERE WERE NO PUMPKINS HARMED IN THE

CAPER. 😱😼

All kitties were happy to see Mom and Dad

  1. Alpacas are cuties! As for Harper...I'm hugely impressed that none of the pumpkins were broken, either deliberately or by accident!

  3. Alpacas are beautiful & interesting animals. Our
neighborhood zoo has some & with their long graceful necks, & calm demeanor they almost seem majestic. When I drive by I feel like they’re judging me! 😹. The neighborhood zoo was recently ranked 8th in popularity in the country. Link: https://www.northgeorgiazoo.com/

  5. Alpacas are so cute and we love their curly hair-do's! You are too cute in your pumpkin patch, Harper, and we keep forgetting to comment on how pretty your blog banner is for May!

  6. I think alpacas are so cute. There's a woman around here who has an alpaca farm or at least she used to anyway.
That looks like it was a close call with one of those pumpkins.

  7. We receive a quarterly State magazine with wildlife in the articles. And so thoroughly enjoy the book. We actually have an alpaca Farm right in our big little city. I drive past it every time I go to the main library and I love to see the baby alpacas. I see Harper knew how to skinny behind the pumpkins without any damage being done. Maybe those pumpkins will now get a chance to grow to be full size in october, lol. It wouldn't do much good up here this week as we're having Frost everyday for the next 4 or 5

  8. Mom loves alpacas. The place where we pick up our raw food is a ranch and right where we park they have alpacas and goats. It is very smelly but they always come to the fence to greet Mom. I'm scared of them so I stay in the car.

  10. Harper sure was taking a risk hanging out with all those glass pumpkins. I'm glad he didn't push any onto the floor.

  14. I like looking at Alpacas too. Never met one though. Now Harper...you remind me of my Robin- whose fightin' weight was 6 pounds tops. A tiny little Tortie. BUT she could walk nimbly between little objects laid out, and not disturb them by one fur!

  15. I am another lover of Alpacas. Our neighbor, when we lived on the Tiny Ten, had three of them and they got out once and showed up in our back woods. I don't know exactly why but Harper has me LOLing all by myself on the couch. It's just such a Harper thing to do🤭 Her eyes, her expression it is so... ohhhh, I got caught.

  17. I agree, the Alpacas are so adorable! Harper looks so cute, especially since none of the pumpkins went crash bang!

  18. Alpacas are nice to pet, llamas not so much.

Harper, you are very light on your feet and I thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.
