This photo was taken on a beautiful August day in 1987.We took our daughter to New York City to celebrating her 16th birthday.

Then in a nanosecond we came around the corner
lo and behold it was not a space ship
but a most unusual water tower growing right out of the
trees. So tall I could not get it in one pictue.

September 11, 2017...Madi's thought about
Hurricane Irma was heading our way
Mom told me Irrational Irma might come to visit today.
I don't know anybuddy named Irma but I am watching
Evidently my peeps did not invite Irma.
I am on Irma watch as soon as I see her I will give her
my back of disrespect and
my back of disrespect and
a piece of my mind!!
Thankful Madi steered Irma away from you! We slept in basement with Sassy, Buddy & Dakota. No power for several days.

What a beautiful post and for a day that we will never forget. What a huge water tower and very pretty as water towers go!

ReplyDeleteIt is a day Mom will never forget even though she was living abroad at the time. She is glad she had been to and seen the towers years before but it is still something that is hard to imagine even happened.

We will never forget the events of this day 25 year ago. I love seeing the flash back and glad that Madi steered Irma away from you.
ReplyDeleteSept. 11th was the most horrible date I have lived. For a while, a week or so, the Country came together. Then, I remember well, the media started faulting Americans for being angry and hurt and leaned heavily on the side of the terrorists and their Countries; and the those of the same blood waking around in this Country...it kept up till this second in time...I stopped reading newspapers from that time on. And listening to network news.

Our Dada was in a meeting in the only room in the building that had a television, and somebody knocked on the door and said they needed the TV, and that was the end of the meeting. And of any work for the rest of the day."

A very heartwarming tribute to those lost on 9/11, and thankful to all those first responders. Sweet kitties on the lookout guarding your safety. Interesting shots of the water tower and whatever the other one is. A cell phone tower maybe? I really don't have a clue. If I haven't said it before I love your Fall photo and how lovely it would be to sit at one of those tables sipping on a hot drink with you :)

DeleteWe bet the sight of that first water tower gave you a jolt til you got the full perspective. The second one looks like the descriptions of the alien machines from "War of the Worlds."
