Steeple(less) Sunday: Temple Beth Or

Temple Beth Or, 'House of Light',
is on Creedmoor Road, which is not far from our home; however, it is on a side of the road we rarely travel except weekends and I often forget my camera.
During the holidays, getting pictures of this beautiful Temple was on the top of my to do list.
Temple Beth Or has been an active Reform congregration in Raleigh since 1912.  It is nestled in a beautiful setting amongst
many hardwoods.  Ever though it is off a busy street the setting is very tranquil.  This is the view you have as soon as you turn in the driveway.
It was founded by a Jewish group associated with the Hebrew Sunday School Society in Raleigh. Originally it was located on Hillsborough Street, just a few blocks from N. C. State University,
Meredith College and St. Mary's College. The congregation moved to this location in 1978.  The Religious School wing was added in 1984 and the Education Building was dedicated in 1999.  There are
currently over 500 member familities dedicated to the service of their faith and to each other.  Many beautiful windows and angles make this a very unique Temple.  As you can see this was taken right after the big snow of December 25 and 27, 2010.
The roof is cedar, I love how the moss is growing naturally on it.

I absolutely love the angles in this picture.  I think the straight
trunk of the tree intensifies the angles and windows

I found these two reserved parking places very interesting.
The first one is for the Rabbi
After a little reseach I found out the President of the congregation is the Chief Executive Officer
We just never know what beauty will be down a road until we make the turn.

HAPPPPPPPPPPY NEW YEAR

I'VE BEEN DOING A LITTLE READING ABOUT
'New Year's RESOLUTIONS'
AND WHAT THEY MEAN.
MOM MAKES THEM SO I THOUGHT I BETTER FOUND OUT WHAT IS WHAT.

I'VE DECIDED A FEW CAT RESOLUTIONS* I READ MIGHT BE WORTH TRYING ON TO SEE HOW THEY FIT.
1. I will not flush the toilet while my human is in the shower.
2. I will not perch on my human's chest in the middle of the night and stare into her eyes until she wakes up.
3.As fast as I am, I must remember that I cannot run through closed doors.
4. I will remember that I am a walking static generator
5. My human does not need my help installing a new board in her computer....she needs the Geek Squad.
6. I will remember that my human will wake up and feed me, even if it seems I will simply waste away
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
7.  I will not hide behind the toilet so that I can pat my human on the 'tocks when he/she sits down just to make her levitate...MOL
I never would have thought of that....hummmmmm
*Mom found these very appropriate resolutions in "The Little Big Book of CATS"!!!  She said the author must have a web cam in our house!!  MOL I hope not!!
RESPECTIVELLY SUBMITTED,
MADI
