Today's Thursday Theme Song, Engine, Engine #9 by Roger Miller, is dedicated to Dad. We thank
Hootin' Anni for sponsoring this fun meme.
The April meet is always right around Dad's Birthday. Dad is about to drive an engine in the 2nd picture.
Engine, Engine #9, coming down the railroad line
How much further back did she get off?
Old brown suitcase that she carried, I've looked for it everywhere
It just ain't here among the rest and I'm a little upset.
Yes, tell me Engine, engine #9, coming down the railroad line,
I know she got on in Baltimore
A 110 miles ain't much distance
But it sure do make a difference, I don't think she loves me any more.
I warned her of the dangers, don't talk to strangers
If by chance she find a new romance, warmer lips to kiss her
Arms to hold her tighter, stirring new fires inside her
How I wish that it was me instead of he that stands beside her.....
This picture is of several different train whistles....and the all are in working order and LOUD
The shed is where all the wood for the tracks and train trestles are cut with a big saw.
The variety of trains at the meet is amazing....such workmanship and devotion goes
into making and caring for them.
This is Dad on the right and his friend Mr. Lee tending to his engine
Mr. Lee machined nearly all of what you see.
One of the many train trestles built by all of the members of the Live Steam Club.
Absolutely amazing.
And last but not least here is Mom just before one of Dad's friend's
'let' her drive his engine....
