Sugar exactly one month ago today my peeps left on a road trip

to attend the BAR.  Along the way they saw lots of beautiful scenery.

The beauty on the road does not compare to the beautiful pups and peeps

they met at the BAR.  We will never forget them...nope never never ever!!

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Today I'm joining Sammy 

Mom was inspired by these photos Sammy I apologize in advance a poet she is not

When the (blog) door is closed on all fours I goes

 I search high and low for friend or foe.

 In the deep dark corners of the closet I see dust!

On the floor I see mom and think woman must there you be?

 I sashay about, over her arm so hairy I step
I'm blinded by the light of the flashy beast 

 Alas I fear to find an escape near is not here.

I settle down with mom hairy arm and all

I hear you all laughing and I don't blame you.  

All the dust has clouded mom's better judgement

GOOD News about Wednesday.  Workers were only here 1/2 a day...
We 3 seniors were thrilled to have no strangers in the house.  The peeps spent the free
time taking pictures off the walls...
I SLEPT

Today we will have painters here probably all day.

Our roaming reporter Madi(son) D. Cat has  a special announcement...she needs a new home. 

Only requirements are

4. she will bring her own food, bed and water

In other mews the good thing about renovations is you get to sort and clean and sometimes

find hidden treasures.  On the tip top of an old book shelf mom found a report my human sis

did in 4th grade all about vertebrae as related to Dachshunds.  Lo and Behold mom found lost photos of Toto the mighty mini Dachshund who was the first family pet 42 years ago

He was 1 year old in this photo

We'll tell you a few Toto stories with each photo.

This one especially tickled Mom. Toto is chewing away on a bone......but his all time

most favorite thing in the entire world to chew on was......

Barbie legs.  Yep never heads or arms just LEGS.  Dad called Toto a 'leg man'!

Once sis caught him chewing on her newest Barbie.  The Barbie had extremely long hair.

Mom saidToto came running up the hall.  Sis was chasing him, holding the Barbie

by the legs trying to swat him with the Barbie hair.  Mom opened the patio door so Toto could

get into the yard, Sis followed him.  Toto might have been vertically challenged but he could run like the wind.  He ran around the house and back inside.  Sis was still running trying to catch him.

She finally realized he was not in the yard.

Sis loved him to bits 

I suppose you can tell by all the avocado green and bean bag these photos were from the mid 70's.

Tuesday Tale

Last week during all the noise, Madi was getting a little bored with the 4 walls in the blog office.

So I decided to make her an enrichment toy kinda like 

the toys dogs have with treats in them.

1.One fishy soaked thoroughly in nip

2. One  gallon size yarn container

3. toss in the fish and see what happens

She immediately got a whiff of nip, knew exactly where it was.

She did not hesitate to stick her head in the container, she shook her head got the toy closer to the opening and before I could

take a picture she had her paw in there pulling it out....

Good news is she was thoroughly entertained for about  25 seconds. Bad news is once she got it out that was it. She had conquered it and was not interested in it any more.

WE all thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the last 3 days.
The noise makers and introoders return today and you know what that means.  We'll be sequestered.


THE OPENING TO THIS JAR IS almost 5" WIDE.  MOM HAD THE LID LOCK  BEHIND THE HANDLE SO IT WOULD NOT CLOSE AND SHE WAS WITH ME THE ENTIRE TIME.
