The life of a Squirrel

In the fall when the wind blows,

and the cold chills my toes

I scurry and hurry collecting nuts

hiding them

from 
This rough and tough 

buffed up  bully rodent.

Ned the Nutcracker

He has toned biceps

and a bad attitude.

As luck would have it,

he is too buff 

to find where 

I hide my stuff.

Words on Wednesday from Canada

 We thank our Hostess Sandee at

 Last week I received an email from a dear friend Joni in Edmonton, AB Canada. 

"I am on vacation in British Columbia near the head waters for Columbia River where it divides Washington and Oregon.    This was taken on the beach at Invermere, at the north end of the lake.  Have you been to the Columbia River?  The wetlands here are great for birding with a festival each May. When I saw the red chairs, I thought of you.  Those snowy peaks really glow against the blue sky.  

I replied: 

"Joni I thank you very much for sending this most breathtaking photo.  The reflections in the water leave me almost speechless.  Of course the red chairs are absolutely beautiful..  I quickly asked Joni if I could use this on my blog she said YES.

Side note:  Joni did not blog.  She was Mom to the beautiful AireGal Aimee.  Joni reads so many of our blogs. Always sending the sweetest comments via emails.

Nope either of us are playing hoops

Happy To report

As I mentioned on November 8th, we joined Healthtrax a local gym.

We are still walking at the mall 3 days a week and going to the gym 2 days a week.

We both have wellness benefits with our retiree health insurance.

For $12.00 a month (each) we can use any of the equipment in the facility and there are hundreds, we can take any of the classes offered.

We both have decided what works/makes us happy. Bryan uses several of the weight machines...then rides the recumbent bike for 20 to 30 minutes.  I use one of the upper body machines for shoulders and upper(flabby) arms.  Then (if there is no one playing basketball) I can walk around the gym.  I do that for 20 minutes, followed by  a 10 to 12 minute walk outside on the facilities trail...

There is a small lake beyond the trees too

I really enjoy walking inside and outside.  

Now I can do both

Dear Auntie HiC, 

After receiving the Halloween card from Precious, her image has been haunting me. She’s a beautiful, fluffy lady cat with eyes that melt my heart. It finally occurred to me that the weird feeling I was experiencing was LOVE! 

I approached Ms. Lynn, Precious’s mother, and asked if I could be her boyfriend. She graciously gave her blessings. 

Precious understands that I’m quite shy and inexperienced, but I completely trust her with my heart. 

We dressed up and went on our first date!

I must admit, we make a striking couple! I’ve never been happier in my entire life❣️

Seeing Red

This line of the most gorgeous red maples is at the intersection where we turn to go to 

the gym I mentioned on yesterday's post.
