Trees and creeks and a funny special day

According to our Whimsical Calendar today is
'Curling is Cool Day'. When I told Madi this she said she would curl her
paws in honor of the day. Then of course I had to explain to her
that Curling is a sport.....that didn't go well.

After we got over the hurdle of Curling, I (mom) decided to share some pictures with you.
There are all kinds of trees in our neighborhood.
I love the bark on the River Birch

The native pine tree standing very tall over this two story house
The Cat Tree

The blue tree
The Crepe Myrtle Tree with cinnamon colored bark
one of our favorite
The bare winter tree with green moss
The Valentine Tree with lots of red Hearts

and finally the trees clinging to the bank of Crabtree Creek (about to crest) in hopes that the mighty current that will not rip them up sending them down the class 1 rapids........

This was taken several weeks ago after several days of hard rain...
The creek is about a 2' from the retaining wall.

  1. Hi Madi,

My, you look so adorable in your cat tree. We're jealous cause we can't jump that high!

    Riley and Star.

  2. We love your curling picture, Madi=great job!!...Those photos of the trees are pretty great too, but of course our favorite is the cat tree=they are the coolest!!...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

  3. Amazing trees around your house :-)
    Wonderful photo's !!!
But I love only the bleu tree meow..meow..

    Hugs Kareltje =^.^=

  4. Hi Madi & Mom,

We like your version of curling Madi, it's much cuter than the sport. The trees are all lovely. I really like the river birch, it is different from the birch trees here. Our favorite of course is the cat tree (we didn't know cats grew on trees). Did we say that? No way!

Glad to hear you are having some warmer weather. Our days are in the low fifties but the nights have been in the mid twenties. We spent the weekend doing things around the house.

    Purrs & Hugs,
    Cindi Lou and Judy

  5. I love trees! They are so beautiful! Madi you have the best one of all!

  6. Madi has the kitty version of curling down to a tee. Luv the trees.

  7. Great curling Madi! All the trees are AWESOME!

  8. Thats cool curlin..MAdi, dont let anyone tell you otherwise. And what neat trees!! Mom thinks the 2nd one is very unique and the 3rd one looks very comfy, I know you love that one the bestest!!

    keep curlin..

  9. I love winter trees...
Madi, I like your curling better than the sport!

  10. HI Madi!

My Dad has really gotten into this Curling stuff. Mom watched some of it on TV and thought it was kinda strange. All of those winter trees were really neat. The one of you in the cat tree was the best, but since we're kitties I am kinda biased your way!

    Purry purrs

  11. Hi Madsters!! You should get a gold medal for your curling technique!! Bravo!! And please tell your mom that my mom likes that myrtle crepe tree bark...sooo pretty as is the native pine tree..me, well, I really like the cat tree!! Have a purrfect day, Lautrec and Tiny

  12. Hi Madi and MOM...sorry we haven't posted in a few days. I love all your trees. I Crepe Myrtle and the Moss covered tree. We LOVE the Valentine Tree. So pretty. Hey what color is the Crepe Myrtle when it blooms?? We like Madi's curling too. Sophie says "She gets the GOLD!!!!!" Hands down.
We love you Madi and Mom!
    Much love,
    Woof and meows,
    Josie and the pussycats!
p.s. hope the river stays low...

  13. Hi Madi, what a cool tree you have! We loved the Valentine Tree with the beautiful hearts - we have never seen a Valentine tree before.
We love trees too - although we much prefer them in the summer - sometimes in the frost and fog they can look spooky.
Curling is a sport that is quite popular in Scotland!
    love and kisses
    Martha & Bailey xxx

  14. We like the cat tree the bestest Madi!!

  15. You're brilliant (for a cat), Madi and I've been saying this for a while now. Way to curl the feetsies. If you hadn't, you'd be reduced to the maid with the curly hair. Yikes. Beautiful blue tree...

  16. Those are all great trees but we like the cat tree the best - because that is where Madi is! And even if she got curling wrong we still think she looks very cute!!

  17. We enjoyed seeing all those trees, Madi...we are most partial to the cat tree, of course.

  18. Hi, Madi!
Yes! your idea about curling is much better than that of the sport!
    Beautiful trees!
    Kisses and hugs

  19. Everyone has curling fever. I think it's catching on! :)

Please leave a meow or bark for Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^=
Life is short, spend it with those who make you laugh
