Monday Mews: We missed everyone!!

Hidey Ho Friends...we hope you all
had a fabulous, safe and fun 4th of July weekend.
My human sis and BIL were visiting all weekend.
A good time was had by all here.
OMCs while they were here,
Sis got an up close and purrsonal picture and  funny video from Harley's most wonderful Cat Nanny, Ms. Ashley.  She is a vet tech at Harley's Vet office.  Ashley comes to Harley's house!!  She is especially fond of Harley.
Harley had a fine weekend too.
In preparation for their visit, the sucky monster was running
rampant all over the house and upholstered . Mom nearly sucked
the life out of this couch then she covered it with a sheet
which I immediately christened with more furs.

Many years ago the neighbors who loved fireworks moved away. We were all very surprised to hear fireworks almost in our backyard Saturday. Everybuddy (except me) we out to take a look

Mom didn't remember that her camera had a night mode until it was over.  She get a few photos of the fireworks and the moon below

We think they were coming from the neighborhood next to us.
They were very pretty and very organized.  The neighbors either hired a professional to handle the display or they all took turns because the fireworks went off one at a time time. Bravo to whomever organized the most fabulous display. I am not a fan of loud noises so mom was kinda worried I'd be hiding. However, when the came inside I was waiting for them on the steps!!

  3. Welcome back! Sounds like you all had a great time. Wow but fancy having a professional to handle the display? Is that common for private parties in the USA? Gail tells me that HGD had dangerous pyromaniac tendencies in his younger days, with only the vaugest idea that 'health and safety' was a concept relevant to a home-based firework display...

A successful weekend all round then!

I got the fright of my life on Saturday, when , in broad daylight, half a dozen VERY bangy-LOUD fireworks went off in a garden nearby... (at least I hope they were fireworks)... so I guess there's a US delegation here in the depths of rural Scotland!

Like Bertie's Gail, I have memories of some rather wild and too close to call moments during fireworks of my childhood days... even then I did my best to not be involved. Detest the things. ..... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  10. We had a few fireworks, but nothing too scary. Fortunately, we aren't bothered by the loud noises like other cats and dogs.

Glad you had a good fourth!

  11. glad you had a good visit and sure would like to see Harley in the nanny cam pic.. we had more fireworks, over and hour of them.. woke me up several times so I was not happy. one of the family here, about 10 miles from us, set up fireworks in their driveway, one of the rockets fell over after he lit it, he went to stand it up, and aimed it right at his wife and her friend who were sitting in chairs infront of the garage door. the rocket went between them and blew up the garage door, they are both still in the hospital full of shrapnel. they are illegal here and i wish they would enforce it.

We hate fireworks, we usually have them for Guy Fawks day in November and at New Year.

  22. Your mom remembered the night mode the same night so in our book that was pretty good. It takes a couple days for those thoughts to kick in for our pawrents.

  31. Kitty fur just adds that special extra touch to any furniture...it's just not right without! Those fireworks look awful pretty. We spend the 4th at my dad's house...and we could HEAR plenty of fireworks but couldn't SEE any. It kinda of made mom sad but she just ended up saying 'maybe next year.'
