On Monday Robin posted that she hoped Christmas would forgive her for not taking him
on vacation. It reminded mom of another Toto Story
Dachshunds have PhD's in Sweet revenge.
Mom told me they boarded Toto for 11 days when they went to Hawaii in the early 1980's.
When Mom picked Toto up from boarding he acted like he was so happy to see her. She took him on a nice walkabout to potty. He potty on every blade of grass in the yard. However, as soon as mom got him in the house and took off his leash he barked to get her attention. When Mom turned around he lifted that vertically challenged back leg on the kitchen table leg, leaving a river we'll call I Pee Freely. The entire time he was giving mom an evil eye daring her to leave him again.
When he finished he walked to his bed for a nap.
The kitchen floor was linoleum so it was an easy clean up.
She was amazed he had any pp left in him but evidently Toto was saving all the peepee
as SWEET REVENGE.

Mom said it was H A R D to be mad at that sweet face.
I hear some laughter coming from Blogville...yep mom was wearing desert boots(that is what they were called back then) and bell bottom pants. This was Toto's favorite place to sit at night
MADI'S BLOG OFFICE WILL RE OPEN BRIGHT AND EARLY
ON MONDAY
7/25/16
WE HAD first floor carpet installed on Friday. We will be moving STUFF around to other rooms in preparation for more carpet installation next week. Three rooms four to go.
What a funny story! And such a sweet picture too. PS: so much stuff going on at your house lately. Will it ever end??
ReplyDeleteOur dad was wearing desert boot the very first time mom met him!

ReplyDeleteBwwhahahahahahhahah I'sa managed to get all through the 70s without a pair of desert boots or bell-bottoms. Clogs and kaftans, though, are quite another tale... awwwwwwwww look at Toto.... aawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.... *ahem*.. hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
hahah Toto was a super smart pup! and instead to bark he wrote a complain :o)guess what? the mama had a phase were she ONLY wore this desert boots, her uncle bought them in spain and the mama and her two cousins practically lived in this boots... she even wore it as a relative made the mistake and hired her as one of the flower girls of a weddding... the mama got a blue lace dress and wore it with desert boots, ha!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness....moving stuff around...just READING about it all makes me wanna go nap. Where's Madi now? I'll be joining her while you two WORK!
ReplyDeleteCan't help but love Toto and his p-venge.
Toto sure is cute and smart too. Sweet revenge, that is for sure. Enjoy your week end. Sounds like next isn't going to be much fun. Take care.
ReplyDeleteseems like you are getting really close to the end of the remodel.. i love Toto upside down, i guess he showed you. the desert boots are funny now, but way back then they were on everyone, my sons and there dad had them. i did not because even then i preferred sandals...i did have bell bottoms. the new fashion now is the 70's look, it is every where and as ugly now as it was then..
ReplyDeleteBOW WOW, I can relate to you, Toto. AND, I do that same position while my momma's on the couch with me! Us Dachshies gotta stick together, am I right?
ReplyDeleteHA! Toto was an early adopter of PeeMail!
ReplyDeleteToto was such a cutie - and he knew how to butter Mom up even he did get his pee revenge. When we have to be boarded, we just sleep for days and days when we get home:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
Wow what a big redo in your house Madi! Mom would love new carpet in the living room, but other projects come first.

That is hilarious! We just don't expect their little minds to be plotting revenge. Nice bell bottoms ;)

Oh, is that ever a funny, funny story!!!! What a smart pup! ha roo roo roo!!!
ReplyDeleteIs the end in sight as far as being sequestered? This has been going on for what, like 87 weeks or more, right? You've got to be getting tired of this!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
BOL! SHE used to be embarrassed when collecting the former scotties from the kennel. They just ignored her and sniffed everywhere. Took a couple of days and lots of cheese for HER to get back in their good books.
ReplyDeleteThat sure was a funny story. We can't believe you are still having more work done at your home. When will it be done?
ReplyDeleteLoving the bell bottoms and desert boots! I just purchased a pair of bell bottoms at American Eagle Outfitters... they call them A Lines! I love them. Toto looks so much like our Dutchie when I was a kid... Dutchie loved my Mom and she sat like that, but the chair was green!
ReplyDeleteSee you all Monday!
Ah, the smell of fresh carpet . . . and bell bottoms! Our mom loves bell bottoms cuz they help hide her giant feet.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
OMD, Toto is such a cutie!!!! Oh, and I thinks everyone on the planet had a pair of those shoes!!! BOL!!! I thinks Ma had some too! Thou, at the time, she was into her Elephant Leg pants with Platform Wedges! BOL!!!! (hey, don't laugh...it was the 70's and she was in junior high! HAD to look taller than her shrimpy 5'3!)
ReplyDeleteOh, Ma dreeeeeeams of fresh carpet....oh, and Ma's Angel Maggie did somethings like that, only she squatted...☺
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Sorry to your Mom, I did find that funny. At least she didn't get her hair peed on like Sammy did to me.
ReplyDeleteMOL! Toto was quite the character! And the mom remembers desert boots. She thinks she may have had a pair. :)
ReplyDeleteHeehee! (Sorry)
