WRAL- Azalea Gardens have two seasons
Spring Azaleas normally bloom
Mid September - October when the Encore Azaleas put on a fall spectacle
As you will see there are many many varieties of flowers not just Azaleas.
No more words needed
except the shadow on the left is guess who?

It is a huge maze of beauty there are even several honey bee hives throughout
I wanted a picture but they have it sitting in an area that doesn't have a path... one is in the
photo below back in the shade on the right
the other is on the left under the trees.
This is such a popular place to visit they recently added a
Garden restroom..sign was in the shade.
It is basically a hole in the wall but very clean and has what is needed.
LOL
While we were having breakfast on October 24, 2019
we heard the International Space Station was supposed to fly over Raleigh starting at
6:58 am duration~6 minutes I grabbed my iPad
AND we saw it
Look just over the pine tree on the right at about 12 o’clock the finger is pointing to it too.
Growing up, we always had azaleas. There was only a very small window when they all were in bloom at once. All the kids were called into action walking around the garden while my dad filmed it on the old 8mm camera.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had the finger pointing to the ISS....so many dots on the computer screen made it difficult to see which was the station....LOL!
azaleas are beautiful! and you really could take a photo of this space event, how great is that?
ReplyDeleteThose azalea gardens are splendiferous! And that office shadow is one AWESOME capture!
ReplyDeleteWow, azaleas at this time of year! The Aberdeen ones all bloom in May/early June.
ReplyDeleteThe Azaleas are so beautiful and we love the copper-topped birdhouse!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Azaleas and amazing you caught the ISS on camera! Single digit windchills gotta be pretty cold in an RV. Crank up the heater! Those two little heads staring out the window are adorable!
ReplyDeleteIt still looks real warm and summer like in your neck of the woods. We have snow this morning, but we love winter, so not a problem for us.
ReplyDeleteOM goodness, you guys are great weather fellows. It was 34 this am when I got in my car.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was windy. I thought I would end up in North Carolina.
Great pictures of the Azaleas. You already know I have a great love for them.
Happy weekend.
The azaleas are beautiful, and how nice that they bloom twice. Ours usually start to flower just as we go on holiday and are well past their best when we get back.
ReplyDeleteAll those flowers are so pretty. Nice to see some flowers. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteyou know my favorite photo is the last one, love those shadows from above...Madi would have loved to watch them move in the wind. that video warmed the cockles of my heart. to precious for words. it looks cold and windy out their window... I am thinking they will se a lot of snow sometime in the near future...

ReplyDeleteOh my word what a packed post today - and everything a gem!!! I adore azaleas, one of my personal faves in the garden world - and cannot believe you got that shot of the ISS with an iPad!!! YAM xx
How nice to have azaleas blooming in the fall. We never knew they would do that.

ReplyDeleteC; the last picture looks like a picture on the wall, I really like that one. I wish the azalea would grow here; they say oh get a hardy azalea, well, even the best of the hardy don't like a real temperature below zero !! ☺☺♥♥
We have a few azaleas blooming in our backyard...and even couple of rhodies are showing us a few blooms!
ReplyDeleteBRRRRRR...We hope Kat is staying warm!

The gardens are so beautiful - looks like a wonderful place to wander. Also looks like the "MOVING HOUSE" pup, cat and family are heading to an interesting place next - New Mexico! No doubt they will enjoy it just as they have the rest of their trip so far.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
