Happy Tuesday Tails

After several days of rain, followed by several days of below freezing temperatures, as is typical in
NC the weather turned WARM...about 70 or 72 F
I saw many happy wagging tails!!

There were 2 dogs walking in the picture below
One in front was a brindle not sure of breed
Black lab in the back.

Black Lab

Below is my latest quilting project which I will donate to Project Linus, Raleigh Chapter,
was started in 1996 by Susie Holmes. Over 50,000 blankets have been delivered to many local groups and agencies that help seriously ill or traumatized children who need a HUG from a blanket including: Wake Med Hospitals, Rex Hospital, Duke Hospital NICU, Safe Space (for children of abused women receiving support), Hospice (for their Reflections program for grieving children and teens), Make a Wish Foundation, the children at Salvation Army, Children's Flight of Hope, and Wake County Social Services.

It is a play mat
Same pattern as last week's called a square in a square.
Made with 5" and 10" precut squares both in nursery fabric.
I had 9- 10" squares left over.  Once I sewed them together I had just the perfect
amount of fabric for backing.  I think everyone knows how much I love pops of
brilliant colors.  The two smaller photos are up close of the quilting stitch.

  3. Very sweet quilt! I love my blankie(cabana towel) so I think Project Linus is awesome. Everybody needs a blankie for security, comfort and fun. I have never seen a doxie that color either. Little white floofy dogs seem to be the choice here. Good Morning!

  7. All the pup walking reminds me of hubby and our Little Bit. They used to love exploring the sights, sounds and smells. Precious memory.

Your work is most beautiful and thank you for donating to such a worthy cause.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug, honey. ♥

  9. We won't have weather that nice for a couple of months. The low temp is predicted to be in the negative numbers in a couple of days. We love your Project Linus quilt and just know it will bring joy to someone.

  11. Momma says she had never seen a doxie that color either, UNTIL she saw a picture of one just yesterday! How weird.

  13. Okay, are coats optional? Those people must have been freezing their behinds off in that first picture with the dachshund! Especially if you say it just has been freezing!

Love the blanket. I wish I had some more patience to actually make something like that. At the moment I am knitting a dress. For a 3 month old! Big enough for me!!

  14. A great cause. Someone is going to love huggin' that. My SIL used to make pillows for children who were in hospital. Occasionally, she'd see a child in a shop still hugging a pillow that she'd made.

  21. Some warm Spring weather is still a long way off here in WNY. But we're glad you got to enjoy some!

At the nursing home where my ghostwriter works, several groups donate hand made blankets to keep everyone warm. But they're usually not as fancy as your beautiful one.
