Saturday Symmetry

Thank you all for you wonderful wishes for our 50th Golden Wedding anniversary yesterday.
The sun was out, there was NO rain.  We had breakfast at Panera, took a brisk 50 minute walk outside.  We learned years ago not to even try to have a pleasant dinner out on February 14.
Too crowded and too rushed.  We are going out for a nice dinner at The Peddler on Tuesday,
February 18th.

*****************************************

We have very very very tall pine trees in Raleigh.
Photos from the car
The one on the left is one I've wanted to share for some time.
The two bushes are just green until the sun hits them for a brief few minutes.
I happened to have my camera and was able to catch a photo of the breeze blowing just enough
to show off the silver under the leaves. I'd like to get a better photo but they are on the edge of a
2 lane road no where to park.

I shared the whirly gigs last week
This week I'm showing you the curb art with , NO,
printed on them...many homes have these by their mailboxes

LOL, 'NO'... wonder how many dogs look at that and think, "no to NO"?! Great Sym-shots today my friend!!! YAM xx

  2. The silver of the bushes is pretty.
We could do with larger versions of those dogs in various places here. People from the village walk their dogs down the single track road that leads towards our farm. Most carry poop bags with them but some don't. Worse still are the ones who use a poop bag then hang it in the hedges.

  3. Happy 50th! Did you walk for one minute for every year you were married? Or is it just a complete coincidence?

  6. sometimes art is better than words, and this is art with the word. hope it works for them. most people ignore signs. I forgot to take the roll of bags when we were walking Big. when we got half way back, our neighbor was outside and I said do you have bag I could have? I need to go back and pick up Big's poop. he said no I don't have one, just leave it, everybody else does... of course I walked home got the bag and went back.
the trees are beautiful even without the silver showing. I love tall pines, GA and FL are full of them to.... good idea to wait until the love rush is over in the resturants.

  7. Those trees are pretty amazing, we would like to have more like that here.

  8. We like foliage that has a surprise on the under side. That yard art is also functional if the neighbors actually obey.

  9. GW says that in summer, when she's driving home from work at night, she sees some bushes that have leaves that are silver underneath. She thinks these might be sumacs. We saw the silver undersides of the leaves on our silver maple when there was a storm coming.

Our neighbors who have doggies to walk are mostly pretty diligent about cleaning up after them. I guess we're lucky on that account.
