Awww Monday and Sparks

I am a collector of Sea Shells
I am especially proud of my Sand Dollars and my sea sponge
These sand dollars are at least 40 years old.

As you can see in the bottle I have several of the shells shown on the Sparks Quote

North Carolina is proud of the Scotch bonnet. So proud, that with the urging of the N.C. Shell Club, the state General Assembly saw fit to anoint the Scotch bonnet as the official state shell in 1965.

There are several Scotch Bonnets in this jar.

  4. Nice collection!! I used to collect shells when I lived in Florida - whatever happened to them - who knows?! I do have one very important shell - it as in my Dad's footlocker which I got after he died - I believe the shell was collected from a beach in New Guinea where my Dad served in the Air Force. So it's an oldie but a goodie. Your shell collection is so PERFECT! (so is that spark!)

  5. Your shells are so pretty. We have a couple of sand dollars from a fellow blogger. They come from the Pacific Ocean and we just love them.

  12. My mother was an avid collector of shells. She had them in jars she had them in Bowl she had them laying on the shelves she even had them inside two lamps. She was raised here in Florida only a few miles from a beach that was full of sand dollars and shells her whole life and she lived within walking distance of a shell factory that made all kinds of things out of shells. There was a time in my life that I had several pairs of clip-on earrings that were made from Coquina shells with a real popular here

  13. I love that spark and your shell collection too - very pretty! I love to collect shells when I walk along the seashore, unfortunately that doesn't happen very often in my landlocked home.

  15. C;

    I've got more shells in my house than sense in my brain, not that I've traveled much, but any chance I ever got TO collect, I was. I found a sand dollar once that had a barnacle attached and it got a special "shelf" of honor !!! ☺☺☺♥♥♥

  18. I remember visiting my grandparents in Sarasota and Pensacola and collecting shells when I was a little girl...I still love walking the beach, and we have bunches of Sand Dollar pieces here on the Northwest Coast...but the shells aren't the beauties I found in Florida!

  20. I have not seen or heard of a Scotch bonnet. We collect shells and shark's teeth. The Scotch bonnet looks like a little fish in the picture. Now for it to cool off around here so that we can get back on the beach for a walk! Your Spark is certainly loved by us!
