Wordless Wednesday

Hosted by Comedy Plus

One of the many pieces of outdoor art on the Trail at the NC Museum of Art.  I've taken many photos of it but never shared...today is your lucky Day!!  I have words for it but I won't use them. Art is in the eyes of the beholder...  so tell me what do your eyes behold?

  2. A naked person without a head or arms! There is a similar sculpture of Eve at the Eden Project in Cornwall but it is made from mosses. I imagine there must be a frame underneath.

    1. As soon as I commented I realised I had the wrong place. It is in the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

There is a sculpture of Eve at Eden, but it is different.

Definitely the backside and legs of a sleeping person; but cleverly set so as to resemble a simple rock formation... one of course wonders what the other side reveals... M or F??? ;~) YAM xx

  5. My first thought when I saw the photo before I even read your words was it looks like a dead aardvark. I'd like to meet the person that thinks that's beautiful haha

  6. Sorta looks like a natural rock outcrop, but there is definitely a rear-end and legs!

  7. Not a fan. The body is a beautiful thing. Not my body, but many bodies. You are right, art is in the eyes of the beholder.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

  8. We see a person's backside as they are laying on their side but there seems to be no head. We'd like to see what the other side of that sculpture looks like.

  11. Everyone else is all wrong! It's definitely a dead upside down manager.

HI St. Cecilia!! If you want to join in on the scavenger hunt you could easily grab your cellphone & find everything listed & post it in minutes (you have until Halloween for deadline)...the link to the list of 10 is at the top of my blog.

  12. Cecilia, this is obviously a horse with it's leg, partial tail, he's laying on the rest of the tail and long neck. He's lying on a very uncomfortable stone bed.

  13. I agree with Shoko-it's a downed horse.

  14. Well, that is very odd. We do see a resemblance to the body of a human, headless maybe. Mom has no sense of art whatsoever. She might be inclined to say the cement mixer had a mishap:)

  16. Wells, the bottome half is definitely a man (you can see the legs and feets), butts then from the lower back up, I gets confused. Butts that doesn't take much ☺
Butts it sure does make you stop and think ~ that must be the point I guess.
    Kisses,
