Taken on an early morning walk. The glass blue bird was so pretty in the sun.
Plates:
I don't see as many as I used to see.
1. BR1CKCITY, Brick City on a Brick Company truck
2. DBLSHOT, Double Shot
3. PURRBARK, on a mobile vet van
4. CUTEYP1E, Cutey Pie
5. GABEEZ3, Gabby's
6. SLAINTE*,
means health in Irish and Scottish Gaelic
*When written, it should have an acute accent, like this sláinte
Thanks to GiGi Google
THAT is all folks

ReplyDeleteThat wee ornament is delightful - I hope it is fastened on somehow. I could well see it 'flying away'...
I have to dispute your #6... Salinte is NOT the same as Slainte (pronounced "slaanshye") - unless someone can't spell. "Salintay" is how I would pronunce what is written on this plate. It is listed as a surname, although not common and origin uncertain. It is also the name of a 'pleasure craft' (probably a yacht) which is currently plying the waters of the River Pee Dee near Georgetown, South Carolina. YAM xx
Salinte is the name of a pleasure craft registered under the US flag. It is currently in the Charleston area but I can't find details of size etc. Of course it may also be a mis-spelling of Sláinte.
ReplyDeleteJackie you are correct it is supposed to be Slainte....I checked my notes.
DeleteLove the beautiful glass bluebird!
ReplyDeleteI saw glass bluebird on a stick in Home Depot, they were beautiful, they had other birds also
ReplyDeleteLovin' the bird bath image!!
ReplyDeleteI bought a glass blue bird like that years ago for my daughter. I wonder if she still has it. Sounds like you enjoyed your walk.
ReplyDelete#3... very cute! Bluebird of Happiness, I sold them in a gift shop I worked in... they flew out the door!
ReplyDeleteWe love that glass bluebird but love our real ones the best! You found some great plates.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bluebird of happiness! Lady was thinking those stairs would be horrible to keep clear in the winter, but she guesses that is not an issue in your part of the world! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. I rarely go out so I don't see any unique plates. XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool bird! It would get so dusty around here that if it was in our yard, Mom would be compelled to dust it every day! (yes, Mom is OCD).
ReplyDeleteCinnamon had a terrific time yesterday! So many firsts (and a bittersweet last). She loved that she got to go to the big city with Mom and Alex and that her old car bed got put in the new car! The only thing she thought was missing was ice cream after the swim. We hope you guys had a marvellously happy weekend I sure did! It was so nice and quiet with the hairy slobbery sister gone for the day. Purrs Marv
That bluebird sure does sparkle!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking just the other day that I see so few specialized plates anymore. I'll send you one if I see it!
ReplyDeleteI love to read and drive.
ReplyDeleteThat bluebird is pretty in the birdbath.....a dot of color! Wonder why not many personalized plates....I know they're more expensive. We don't see many of them up here.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
I love blue glass.
ReplyDeleteThe bluebird is very pretty! We're thinking we don't see as many custom license plates around here either lately. Maybe it's because we don't go anywhere other than the grocery stores since covid started.
