There was one, once, on the outskirts of Dunoon - on the main road into town (and there only two anyway!) Shortly after, a flashy auto-speed gun thing went in warning drivers how fast they were going as they approached the 30mph zone... YAM xx

  2. I rather have a stop sign than the dreaded speed bumps. that is what we did with grapefruit and avocadas back when we had thousands of them. now we barely get enough avocado to eat ourselves, we do give a few away if we get to many to eat. grapefruit tree died.

  3. Those traffic counters?!! As a teen, I used to drive over...back up and drive over many times. Shhhh, you didn't hear that from me!!

  4. I would love to see one of those traffic counter thingies on our street and later see something that would slow down the speeders on our street. It has become a problem but once the snowbirds come back and start walking, running and biking en masse the cars will have to slow down.

  5. I never thought about other reasons to have one of those wires slung across the street. Learned something!

  6. Mom says she hates those speed bump things.

  7. We hope you don't get a speed bump in your neighborhood. It's nice of your neighbor to give away their extra tomatoes.

  8. I have so many tomatoes this year that it is ridiculous! I have given loads away but still have far too many. Up to now I have made 14 litres of soup and frozen it for the winter. My greenhouse will take 15 plants and every year I say I will put less in, but I still plant 15! Next year will be 6 maximum!

  9. Speed bumps are a necessary evil I'm afraid on SOME streets.......how extremely kind of someone to share the bounty of their garden......homegrown tomatoes are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than others!

  10. We'd gladly take the speed bumps, humans cut-through our neighbor and speed like crazy.

  12. I think people just speed between them. I've been thinking of putting okra on the road with a sign that says free okra.
