This home is in Country Club Estates. We like riding around looking at all the 'estates'. I'm very thankful I don't have the upkeep domestically or financially. LOL
JC Penney's Department store was torn down. I miss it A LOT.
This most unusual monstrosity literally rose out of the ground where JCP was located since the late 1960's. It is one of the many new structures in North Hills a shopping center. It looks like the bow of a cruise ship.
It is across the street from the front doors of many homes. The neighbors are not happy. It is so tall they all sit in it's shadow.
What a shame. The view from the houses isn't pretty.
ReplyDeleteNow, I need to spill the beans here...too early!! But I read bow of a cruise ship as in bow (ribbon) at first. Lordy.
My dad says unfortunately that kind of thing's happening everywhere. Downtown Asheville is sprouting like crazy, and up in NYC where he works sometimes he says there's new "monstrosities" going up all over, blocking the views of many.

ReplyDeleteIn and of itself, the symmetry of the new build is quite something... but yeah... not the most attractive design! I see an electric kettle... YAM xx
Yam made me see the kettle. when i was selling real estate, we were careful to find out the zoning and tell people what could happen near them. we have the mall that penny's was in, sitting there for 4 or 5 years now, about 25 acres of buillding and concrete. we are wondering what will go there next. it is sad to see the beautiful on the insde mall just sitting there with chains on the doors.
ReplyDeleteThat home is beautiful but we agree that the multi-story building doesn't belong across the street from homes.
ReplyDeleteI agree, that new build is a monstrosity! The house however is lovely with it's tall chimney.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous home, but I prefer smaller houses. XO
ReplyDeleteHugs to Angel Madi ~ that is quite the 'estate' ~ great photo ~ Multi-story ~ definitely out of place ~ sigh

A very pretty home in the Country Club estates but too big for me and I'm not fond of the cruise ship building.
ReplyDeleteThe cruise ship building... just NO! Couldn't we just stop building? Can't I just go back to 60s? Building is going on all around us. Ugh. The house is beautiful but I can barely just keep up with my MUCH smaller home. Good Afternoon! Hope you made it to Seaboard :)
ReplyDeleteThat cruise ship building is awful, I'd hate to live in that shadow too. The "estate" is pretty but for that kind of money I sure wouldn't want neighbors that close.
ReplyDeleteA very nice house.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of smaller houses - even if I had buckets of money I'd have a smaller house.....but it is a PRETTY house in your photo. Not as complimentary of that great big office building - and I sure wouldn't want to live next door to it!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
That is a gorgeous house. Our Penney's and Sears both left our local mall. I think there's a Penney's at the huge mall a lot further north of us.
ReplyDeleteI prefer classic architecture
