Thank you to our
Today I will tell you about Mia my oldest Grandkitty. She is about 10 now. She was adopted from Island Rescue about 8 years ago.
They estimated her age to be 2 years old and they thought she had recently had a litter of kittens. She is a bit aloof doesn't play much, probably due to the life before she was rescued. She formed an immediate maternal bond with Frisco. He was about 6 months old at the time. Frisco respected her boundaries but was happy to be invited into her inner circle. Mia likes to be up high. This is one of her favorite places. She has a soft cozy bed up there BUT most of all notice there is a heat vent in the ceiling. She is there most afternoons with my daughter (M) and son in law(G) come home. They say she leans over the edge to greet them. She can watch the rugrats romping and playing.
Her second favorite spot is in her Dad's lap. Of the 3 kitties Mia is the only one who LOVES to be held. I don't have too many photos of her because I held her a lot. I made sure to pick her up anytime she was near me. She is quite petite.
I sent this photo to a friend.
She replied; Is that a real cat on top of the cabinet?
Next Monday will be about Frisco. He was actually adopted before Mia. He is the 2nd oldest aka middle child
If you have ever been owned or known a Tortie, you 100% know the quote is true.
Mia is a pretty girl who likes her high places.

Dearest Cecilia,
ReplyDeleteMia is fortunate for having found a loving home.
Yes, we have had and still have one kitty that love to stay 'on top of things'.
Our Tiggy–Tiger girl still gets on the oak wall unit in the living room at almost 17...
They're fun love bundles to watch!
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2024!
Hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteMia has the best spot in the house.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it was amazing how cats who love "up high" can find (and reach) those TOP SPOTS. One day it will become hard for them to do that trick but while they can - there's nothing like being high in the sky and easy to spy!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
I've never had a tortie, but have heard they have great personalities.
ReplyDeleteHaving bottle raised many a tortie, and having met plenty in my rescuing life, I can vouch for the tortitude.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful.
