Thanks to YAM for fueling my urge to crochet Today I have 2 news squares
It has been several weeks since my last post on Saturday Stitches.
This is what I wrote.
I also completed a 7" square of the treble stitches. I didn't enjoy the treble it was TROUBLE.
No problem doing it. Just the stitch is too loose. The square is flimsy and may or may not be shown here or used down the road. Thanks to YAM Aunty's cleverly made YouTube Video

She showed us how to link crochet stitches to make them more secure....
I call the video TROUBLED TREBLEs stitches Over the POND to Me.

I admit to going a bit rogue with your instructions. *My 7' square is one row of treble,
one row of single crochet. I'm happy...
Recaps on rows one and two
First row are l-r single, double and half double crochet
Second row 2 are l-r granny square and bushy stitch
Third row are new squares
#1 NEW and improved Treble as described above* THANK YOU YAM
I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT LINKING STITCHES or in my case mixing them.
#2. the troubled Treble that made me unhappy too loose. I won't use this one when I assemble the Afghan.
#3. Is Front and Back loop half Crochets. This one is fun to to just like the Bushy Stitch
V Stitch
just finished this yesterday

You might recognize the stacked wood on the left under the Ale House sign, from several weeks ago.
As the sign read, they have a wood fired oven
The crochet looks lovely. I am glad that Yam was able to give you advice. That looks a nice place to go for food and a drink.
ReplyDeleteI used to do a lot of crochet work, but those stitches Yam showed us all were knew to me. I might give it a try some day...but not in hot summer time weather!
ReplyDeleteYour squares look amazing!

ReplyDeleteOOoooh, Miss C, your square collection is growing and looking fab!!! Don't give up entirely on the simple treble stitch, though - it definitely has its uses! YAM xx
Your squares are looking great! I've had pizza from a wood-fired oven and the pizza has a wonderful smoky taste to it!
ReplyDeleteToo hot to think about Wood Fired ovens at the moment. Good food or not. Your squares are coming along great. I agree about the treble, it's a very loose Stitch and there's only a few things that it can be fun in.
