As I mentioned on November 8th, we joined Healthtrax a local gym.
We are still walking at the mall 3 days a week and going to the gym 2 days a week.
We both have wellness benefits with our retiree health insurance.
For $12.00 a month (each) we can use any of the equipment in the facility and there are hundreds, we can take any of the classes offered.
We both have decided what works/makes us happy. Bryan uses several of the weight machines...then rides the recumbent bike for 20 to 30 minutes. I use one of the upper body machines for shoulders and upper(flabby) arms. Then (if there is no one playing basketball) I can walk around the gym. I do that for 20 minutes, followed by a 10 to 12 minute walk outside on the facilities trail...
There is a small lake beyond the trees too
I really enjoy walking inside and outside.
Now I can do both

Well done both of you. That is a very good price to use all those facilities, and the trail too. I would pay $12 just to be able to totter along the private trail every day.
ReplyDeleteHappy happy you are doing this, it really makes a difference in how we feel, the exercise I mean. I used to do what you do, use a few machines, walk the treatmill walk outside, walk in the basketball gym, we were there at 5:30 opening time, so no baskeball players. Bob swam, I walked in the pool and now we are stuck in the house.

Absolutely wonderful to have an indoor place to go. Plenty of either too hot too cold or too wet to be outside kind of days. But I'm with you outside and that sunshine and blue sky, that's the best. Not happening here today it's only going to be about 25°.
ReplyDeleteNice you found something that works for you both. Mom will never join a fitness place again. She has tried several times over the years but if she can't do it at home or out the door on her own, she won't do it. It is a great thing for people that enjoy a place other than home to workout.
