I am thankful for each day that Bryan and I are able to get up (albeit a bit stiff and achy), have breakfast together, sip our favorite flavor of Peets coffee and then prepare for whatever the day brings. We are STILL able to exercise each day either walking or going to the gym. As the saying goes,
motion is lotion to the joints.

ReplyDeleteAdorable picture, and how thoughtful of you 2 to be Santa’s taste testers! I’m sure you only take a small taste! 🤣 I’m thankful to be retired and spend my days with David and our silly cats. It’s a simple life & I love it! 🥰 TV
ReplyDeleteThe above comment was by Kit, Kat, Rocky & Cali! I have no idea why I typed TV at the end! My Nuquil cold medicine is kicking in! 😷

Deletewe totally agree... and we are thankful for every day too... for many of such together days for all of us...
ReplyDeleteSame here...every new day is another blessing to add to the many we have already!
ReplyDeleteI love your poem!

ReplyDeleteEvery day a blessing! Enjoyed the giggle at the poem, too... YAM xx
Every day is a blessing to spend the time with the person you love.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun poem.
I need more motion lotion in my daily routine.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the dog and cat. And that's awesome that they are testing the milk and cookies for Santa. VEry thoughtful.
Love your poem and yes, we need more and more lotion as we get older☺
ReplyDeleteVery cute picture and a very good poem. And I love the extra comments made by Ms Kit. I too am thankful everyday to get up and have the furnace run, hot breakfast, and of course precious.
ReplyDeleteMovement is so important. We watch Gramma decline. Each fall or injury sets her back and she never can get back to where she was. Staying as active as one can, as long as one can is so important.
ReplyDeleteMy watch watches steps: some days the numbers barely get out of the "hundreds"!
ReplyDeleteBah humbug. Some days we make it into the high up there "thousands"! YAY for us. No matter which, those old bones still ache, yell, scream ... but each day is one to be thankful to have ... as it is said: the alternative is not such a good one, eh?
love the closing line, ho ho ho.... I am trying to be thankful I can get up and walk, it takes an hour of LOTION MOTION to get to the place I can move without staggering
ReplyDeleteThat's a most excellent thankful and hooray for all that lotion motion. I enjoyed your fun poem too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteEach day is truly a gift to be treasured. Move it or lose it is my motto lately BOL.

Beth

oops ~ forgot the hugs for you and Angel Madi ~ xo
ReplyDeleteSo true, every day is a gift to be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteDo not want Santa tossing his cookies on the rug! We'd have a quick clean-up here with tile.
Being able to move at any age is something to be thankful for. I loved your poem too.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful things to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteWell, if Santa blames you for that, we'll put a lump of coal in his stocking, LOL! Fun read, fun poem. Yes, always telling myself motion is lotion when I creaked down to the garden center today and almost tripped over my toes, causing a poor lady to hold her hand up to me and saying, "Ups, watch yourself" Motion can be dangerous, lol! Hugs, Denise xo
ReplyDeleteMust keep moving as you age! Loved the fun poem!
ReplyDeleteIt's better to wear out than rust.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun poem!
That is a true blessing. Funny poem. XO
ReplyDeleteWe are the same way - getting up in the morning is sometimes a challenge but once we have a cup of coffee and move around we're READY for the day. We love your poem - and we never thought about the possibility that Santa would appreciate having a "Taste Tester" for the goodies people leave out for him - nice that someone cares enough to make sure those goodies are GOOD!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam and Teddy
