Clever Caturday Artsy Friends!!

I have two very crafty and artys friends.
Grant and Kathy.  He is a woodcarver and she is a beader, she draws and paints.
Kathy sent me an email saying

"Grant is forever mislaying his glasses. He has Progressives and reading glasses & is always saying, "where did I leave them?"
She drew up a design he could make with scrap wood and then painted it "whimsically ".  He had fun making 2, here's a photo of one prototype. Now he is busy making MORE!!"

When Angel Madi passed, Grant carved this kitty and Kathy painted it just like my Angel.
Even the freckle on her nose.  Now it sits on top of Madi's box

  1. Very cool! I've seen a similar glasses holder and have thought of buying FOUR of them for my David - he has four pairs of glasses and leaves them in various spots around the house. It's a great idea to give glasses a "home base" !! The carved Angel Madi is absolutely ADORABLE.....I just love it. He's very talented.

  5. What a sweet and thoughtful gift. That glasses rest is cute but it will only work if he remembers to put his glasses down on it.

  7. they both are gifted, the wood carved Madi is so cute and the glasses holder is a great idea. of course it means he needs a dozen or so to put all over the house, because people who put down glasses do it where ever they are.

  10. Such a thoughtful gift of an Angel Madi likeness! I only take my glasses off to sleep or take a bath, so I always know where they are, but having a rest like that is a great idea!
