Dearest Aunty HiC
Mom and I went out to check the tomatoes this morning.
The tomatoes are called Carolina Gold, and turn orange when ripe. Not sure if they’re from North or South Carolina, ha!
Looks like Mom will have a ‘mater sandwich for lunch! 🍅 Wish you were here to share.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Dearest nephew...speaking of colors...color me green with all kinds of envy. Your Mom knows how to grow
'maters!!
I, too, wish I was there to enjoy a 'mater sammich too.

Is your Mom a Duke Mayo and white bread kinda girl when she eats 'mater sammiches?
Aunty...
Mom likes lots of Bama mayo, pepper, on white bread... but she had to settle on multigrain bread today...she said it was delicious!
Bama mayo...I'm not familiar with that brand Kat; however, if Mom likes it, that tells me it is yummy 'cause she has excellent taste in all walks of life.
Lovingly your aunty
The Wren Family wasn’t very happy to see me this morning. Kind of hurt my feelings. 😹
Love you!

As for the Wrens, I think they are jealous of your gorgeous furs.
Your envious but loving

ReplyDeleteOMC look at those maters!!! drooling here and it is barely breakfast hour. I do have toms - of the red vine variety; and home made seed bread to lay them on... see ya later! YAM xx
Oh poor Kat, we're sure the wrens did not mean to hurt your feelings!
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of tomatoes (we say tom-ah-toes) , but Gail says nothing tastes as good a tomato sandwich which has been maturing nicely in one's backpack and is eaten, slightly squashed, on the top of a windy Scottish hill.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
MOL, I bet those wrens wouldn't be happy to see me either!
ReplyDeleteFresh 'mater sanger (as they say here) YUM!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than a tomato sandwich when the tomatoes are fresh from your garden! Mom loves hers on Ezekiel bread.
ReplyDeleteThose tomatoes are real beauties. Makes me hungry for a big BLT.
ReplyDeleteThose toms are looking good. Mine are all ripening well too, so plenty of sandwiches on multigrain bread, and tomato mozzarella and olive oil salads.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why those silly wrens weren't pleased to see you, Kat.
Those are pretty. I haven't heard of Bama mayo either. Although, I'm not a big mayo fan either.
ReplyDeleteKat, you sure know how to make that tail dance.
Happy weekend.
Nothing better than a fresh picked 'mater sandwich! We've never heard of Bama mayo and have never tried Dukes but hear it's really good.

Beautiful tomatoes! We love tomato sandwiches here with Duke's, salt and pepper and white bread.
ReplyDeleteDad would eat fresh tomatoes all day long with salt and pepper and skip the bread and mayo.
ReplyDeleteNow I want a mater sandwich. I like mine on white bread, mayo, mater and thin slices of onion. I'm hungry now.
ReplyDeleteI love your conversations with Kat.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Big hug. ♥
Your tomatoes make me SO jealous. I haven't been able to grow them here in CO yet - our growing season is too short. We built a greenhouse this year, finishing it about 3 wks ago. It was too late to really use it this year but I bought a few mater plants for it. One has a big green tomato! There's hope :) Enjoy your mater sammy - and take a bite for me. I ate those all the time with my mom's home grown maters when I was a girl.
ReplyDeleteFresh maters are sure popular here too Kat!
ReplyDeleteI get so much JOY from watching Kat walking on her leash. love it. I love mater and blue plate mayo on white, but will eat it on anything with whatever mayo is available. I also love a few pieces of bacon if you have it. ha ha
ReplyDeleteYou have me drooling with those home grown tomatoes...nothing's finer!
ReplyDeleteThose tomatoes sure do look delicious...it has me wishing for a mater sammich too!
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty tomatoes. We bet they taste great.
ReplyDeleteKat, you have lovely furs, and why were those wrens making a fuss? Don't they know that you are a pussycat?
ReplyDeleteWe have two of those tomato plants growing in pots on our deck. Mom has picked a few maters from each of them. Two different varieties, and both delicious, but neither is orange:)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.

Mmmmmm fresh tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteWe grew some cherry tomatoes that are yellow and they are excellent.XO
ReplyDeleteOH those are beautiful tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteKat, don’tcha think those ‘maters would make fun toys?
ReplyDeleteNice maters! Our one cherry tomato plant has not done well at all this year. Angel Hazel would have been very sad

Oh boy do those tomatoes look FABULOUS! My Mom loves a mater sammmmich with Duke's. Wondering about that "Bama" brand though. Not in our stores! We get our maters from the Farmer's Market not the store. Store ones are tasteless but farmers know how to grow them that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
There is nothing tastier than a homegrown tomato! I'm jealous too. Wrens don't like Pierre either.
