Sparks and Awww Monday

These lamps are all made from paper.
There are 2 walls full of them at our favorite
garden center

Since we are talking about light today, I'm sharing some
photos from February 21, 2020,  our first snow in 426 days
This was taken around 7:30 pm...with the lights on and the snow on the ground
the night skies all of a sudden looked lighter.

Taken on Friday February 21
The sun kissing the tops of the snow covered trees...

The bottom left above gives you an idea of just how tall pine trees are around the 2 story houses across the street from us.  However, they sure do make a pretty picture.
Pine trees don't like heavy wet snow.. the limbs tend to break under the weight.
Over the years we have had at least 25 of these tall pines removed from our yard.

Weather permitting, my guy and I hope to take a short trip to visit Hemlock Bluff
Nature Preserve today.  It is only about 20 miles from us.  Nikki my Nikon has to
well charged batteries.

  7. I hope we don't get any late bad weather. Our trees are blooming and I don't want it to knock the fruit off.

    Have a good trip.

  10. Great quotes for today. You can definitely see more of what is going on at zero dark thirty when there is snow on the ground. Those pine trees would make us nervous that they might come crashing down on a house.

Snow is beautiful too, but I'm glad we don't have any here.

  16. It's fun to take nature photos; I was out there with the moon a day ago, trying to frame the moon and tree limbs. Artsy fartsy...LOL!

  17. We just came in from the Early Morning Walk--the moon, huge, peeking in and out of a cloud. Beautiful! Love new-fallen snow; but 'sludge' is always in the back of my mind...lol!

  21. Those are some nice snow photos. They say we got a lot of snow this winter, but we disagree. We think it was a mild winter. But we shouldn't say anything to jinx it. We could still have a blizzard or an ice storm.

The paper lamps are so pretty. I can't believe you can get them at a garden store!

  24. Wow! Those lamps are cool. I love looking at snow, but not a fan of it myself. My knees don’t like the cold. Pine trees don’t like heavy snow or ice. (timber)
