Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #15

Today I'm also joining Brian's House for Thankful Thursday.
I'm very very thankful for so many blessings and for so many, many dear friends near and far and their kindness, you all bring joy to me each day.
Today's photos are from my former co-worker at N C. State University, Janice.
They were sent via a very descriptive email.

Hey 😎. We had mulch put down today and just took some pictures - saw my Iris blooming and my Sweet Betsy blooming - thought you might could use them at some point.  My mama always, for as long as I remember, had Iris (multi colored)

She also had a Sweet Betsy or two in her yard.  (I don’t really know the technical name - mine came from rootings from her bush years ago - the little rusty color buds on them smell like Juicy Fruit gum when you hold them in your hand- special memories.

Sweet Betsy
In my wildest dreams I cannot imagine a plant with aroma as sweet as Juicy fruit...but I'd love to smell it.. Tomorrow on Nature Friday I will have two
beautiful sunrises taken by Janice's Granddaughter, Alayna

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

This is today's inspiration

Her face says it all
Will I ask what she sees, No
No tears, means no fears!

  1. Do pass on thanks to Janice for her lovely photos. I'm not familiar with the Sweet Betsy plant, but the scent sounds most appealing!
    Cheers, Gail.

things are really springing forward here now too - I persuaded dad to come to the garden yesterday (!) and he actually enjoyed the sun, the plants, the insects... and the neighbours! Now. If only Madame Fortune there could tell us what comes next... YAM xx

  7. Loved Janice's email and pictures AND the Sweet Betsey that has the fragrance of Juicy Fruit gum. When I was high school age I was never without a stick of Juicy Fruit in my mouth. I had to pay a lot of quarters at the principal's office when the nuns caught me chewing gum but it was worth it! No fears sounds good to me! It sounds like we are beginning to flatten the curve. Good Morning! Jerry had no problem finding TP, Bounty and chicken breast yesterday AND wait for it... hand sanitizer. We have not been able to find hand sanitizer since January!
