Crafty Caturday

I spent the morning making mats for the porch chairs.  We love the table and chairs, perfect size for porch. However I wanted chair mats for them but there are no ready made mats anywhere near this shape. For some reason (even though the edges of the chairs bare most of the tushie weight) about 3/4's down on chair #2 the welding of the seat broke loose and snags one's clothes.  Thus I had to make mat #2 a tad larger to cover up the ragged edges on #2 chair.  I used 2 place mats on each chair for thickness. Cut placemats out by trace pattern, sewed edges together.

I used double bias tape as ties.  Only thing I had to buy for project was place mats which were $8.00 total.  The placemats are a combo of vinyl and cloth. I think they are strong enough to keep the ragged edges from breaking thru.  We hope is to find someone who can weld the #2 chair seat back together, in the meantime we can both sit at the table w/o fear of tearing our pants or our tushies.😂😁😀

Now a photo of our first snack

  5. What a super duper idea and they look so pretty and they look like custom made quilted can't even tell that they were intended for placemats. If you had posted it without the words I would have thought you made quilted cushions for your chairs
