Our  FFF story is timely
This is a picture of our digital wall clock in the office.

When our daughter was about  5 years old,  digital watches were becoming the latest craze.  She asked us if she could get watch. Her Dad asked her to tell him what time  was displayed on the radio screen.  At that particular moment it was
Eleven-Eleven
She replied
one one dot dot one one.
Her Dad said no digital watch til you learn how to tell time on a regular watch. To this day, anytime we see 11:11 digitally displayed we giggle.
She did learn how to tell time on an analog clock first.  Anytime we are all together at 11:11 we laugh she rolls her eyes.

  1. Gail says: teaching children how to read old style clocks can have its issues too. My mother apparently told my older brother that when both hands were pointing straight upwards it was lunchtime. Unfortunately, producing meals to a strict timetable was not one of my mother's strong points (she was much better at teaching her children), but after that she never got any peace unless the midday meal appeared exactly at midday!

  2. That was funny about the clock! What sort of bird is that? I think maybe a robin, but if so they have a much larger patch of red on their chest than ours do.

  3. Love seeing Madi again!!
That is funny story about the time.
Just about every hour around here is "time to make the donuts".

Oooh, look, a Robin and a Rabbit - busy yard! Loved the tale of the time-teller talking in binary - and a remembrance of Madi never goes amiss!!! YAM xx

  5. Interesting, for very different/personal reasons. I have yet to understand why, but for many years now, at least once a day, I will glance at a clock, anywhere-somewhere: and see either 1:11 or 11:11. It never fails. It is everyday. It has mystified me for such a long time now. There is something in my head that says "someday that time will have a meaning for me" ... yet unknown. It may show on my car clock, my bedside clock, my cell, my computer: but it is there without fail.

  9. love the story of the clock. my first cousins granddaughter is 28 and has a 12 month old baby. she can not tell time on a clock. my cousin was shocked when she said Erin what time is it and she said don't you have a real clock? Andrea has only CLOCKS in her house.. I am giggling because the microwave clock was wrong a few days ago. no idea why. I went to set it to 9:28 and could not get it to work. it is new and when we got it I set it easily... it took more than a few moments to realize it wanted 09:28.

  14. Madi was always such a good "helper" BOL

Such a cute bunny and such colorful azaelas, they don't have azaleas here...or rhodies either!
Good catch on the robin and bunny! Rosy will have an interesting bunny story to share next week.

I wonder if children even learn to tell time on analog clocks anymore...
    Hugs!

  16. We saw a big, fat bunny in our yard the other day too! Chester chased it, but he can't run as fast as he used to. Oh, and his kitty cat cousins, Tibie and Hanni like to get into everything their human is doing too.
