I'm glad you got away without having to deal with an irate goose! Looks a lovely spot for a stroll, though I get the impression it was cold out. Have a lovely week! ERin
The mom and eggs must be close. Dad would surely bite, and let me tell you, that hurts and leaves a bruise like you would not believe. I like the geese safely from a distance, and I suspect they feel the same about me, lol.
Our first home had an area similar nearby and we'd take our toddlers there to feed the Canadian geese when they'd arrive ... always the best when their young would arrive as well.
Please leave a meow or bark for Angel Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^= Life is short, spend it with those who make you laugh!! “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” (Leo F. Buscaglia) TONS OF HUGS

ReplyDelete...that suggests it may have been guarding a nest... nice spot for it! YAM xx
I agree with YAM that it most likely had a nest there.
ReplyDeleteI drove past a gaggle of geese the other day. They didnt appear to be bothered by me but then I wasn't trying to take their picture.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Mrs Canada was nearby sitting on a nest.

ReplyDeleteMr. Goose was likely defending his mate that you couldn't see hiding somewhere sitting on a pile of eggs.
ReplyDeleteYes to Mr. Goose defending the Mrs. I am another one that found out the hard way that you don't mess with a Canada Goose! Nice moment, C!
ReplyDeleteThose geese can be quite noisy!
ReplyDeleteYep, maybe some baby geese nearby. At least you were able to get a Selfie at that very serene spot.

Lots of times when you only see one that means their mate has died.
ReplyDeleteWe saw just one today. I wondered if it's mate was on a nest.
ReplyDeleteI have heard geese can get nasty. XO
ReplyDeleteHope you don't get sued for using the goose's picture without permission. 🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteYou sure got his goose!
ReplyDeleteHe must be a scouting party
ReplyDeleteI suspect that was a male with a partner nearby sitting on a nest, and he was there to defend against all intruders.
