Today my grandkitties would like to tell you a story: There is drama,
mystery, intrigue and a bit of humor.
Thanks Granny for letting us hijack your blog today!!
Sincerely,
Your Grandkitties
****************
We and our parents moved to a new home (to us) in March.
Reason for the move, was we lived kinda far from all the places
like mom and dad's work, grocery stores, shops and from all our medical facilities.
When the pawrents saw this home was for sale, they moved quicker than greased lightning.
Now we are much closer to everything.  For us, that means we don't have to spend 87 hours in our PTU in the car when we go to our vet.
We love it and we love the kitties quarters upstairs with plush, soft carpet for our delicate paws.
We have a room where all our stuff (3 litter boxes, a wonderful couch, a huge cat tree and one of our many window perches. Also upstairs we have 2 other bedrooms and a guest bath with lots of interesting things to explore.

Then without OUR prior approval, on May 14th, our pawrents sequestered all of us in their master suite down stairs.  We had all the essentials we needed for the day.  Now mind you, it is quite comfy a big queen bed, chairs, dressers to climb on, a human loo with a shower and a garden tub and double sinks.

When we were finally released, we ran upstairs then the  bellowing started
🙀🙀🙀
"MOM come quick somebuddy stole our carpet"

Looks like there was a paint ball fight  too!!
Two of us were not happy🙀😾, one of us decided to use the loo in the middle of all the drama/trauma, that is her tail you see.

We continued to explore room to room and finally we found our room.  It was still there NO carpet bah humbug.  As we continued to explore, we decided we liked the new floor and were thankful our stuff was NOT stolen by the carpet thieves.
Our pawrents asked the flooring guys to do our room first.

As of this reading, the remainder of the house now has this same flooring.  To say we 5 are happy, would be an understatement.  Our parents are also having  a new shower put into their master bath...but hopefully that will not bother us too much.
They are also replacing the original stair railing which was painted white with a new stained wooden railing.
Now here is the nature part of today's story.
Dad took a sample of the flooring to Lowes so that he could match
the stain for the railing.
Turns out the stain color that best match was called
FERRET,
which made our Mom cackle!!!

Here is a photo of a ferret from Gigi Google

We 3 kitties are all very thankful 'ferret' is just a color not a resident!!
he ferret (Mustela furo) is a small, domesticated species belonging to the family Mustelidae. The ferret is most likely a domesticated form of the wild European polecat (Mustela putorius), as evidenced by the ferret's ability to interbreed with European polecats and produce hybrid offspring. Physically, ferrets resemble other mustelids because of their long, slender bodies. Including their tail, the average length of a ferret is about 50 cm (20 in); they weigh between 0.7 and 2.0 kg (1.5 and 4.4 lb); and their fur can be black, brown, white, or a mixture of those colors. The species is sexually dimorphic, with males being considerably larger than females.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Ellen came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I have trouble pronouncing Pistachio .
2. I tend to confuse my iPad when I type it creates lots of new words.
3. I quit drinking sweet ice tea at supper because I really like it sweet. I cut out all sweet drinks.  Now we drink ice water with a twist of lime.
4. Currently, I can’t get *Never Never Grow UP out of my mind.
*The song Ellen had on her blog yesterday.

  2. Can you please send those flooring dudes to our den after they are done at yours?? Petcretary says the carpet here being almost ancient has to go! Pawppy isn't buying it...or new flooring either...sigh...so *she* keeps using spot cleaners and her dyson...sigh...she just wants to use a dry mop or a wet one if need be...

  3. The new flooring looks lovely. Ferret is a weird name for a colour!

  4. Love the new wood floor and mom's favorite drink is water with ice! Years ago, mom was walking with Maggie from the barn to the house and we saw a ferret in our driveway. Mom didn't know their personalities and didn't want Maggie to get bit as she was just a puppy so mom picked her up and carried her so nothing bad could happen. Our neighbors came and got the ferret as we were guessing, he must have been abandoned.

OMC, so much change in such a short time... you kitties sure are adaptable! No running too fast now - those floors look slippery! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  7. Years ago: son in college, brings roommate home for a few weeks in summer, roommate brings pet ferret, we have cat, oh dear, oh no, ferret likes to run free, so does cat! Is disaster imminent? No! Surprisingly, the two become quick and playful friends ... a happy few weeks ensues watching these unlikely critters together (no cell phones then, no photos). Fun memories ...

  8. The flooring looks fantastic, love the colour. Looks similar to the colour of what I had put in my house last year. It's a big job, those renos, but worth it in the end!

I agree, however, that "ferret" is a strange name for a colour!

  9. Yowsers! Whata move this was. But your very own freshly floored kitty room with that huge cat tree and couch. Oh my, a cat's dream. Just need a pot of cat nip growing on the window sill. Maybe soon, lol. And no kitty likes to be stuck in the PTU for that long drive to the dreaded v-e-t. This will help on stress for all 5 of you. Good luck with the ferret paint, just hope it has no furs in it.

  10. Having someone steal your plush carpet is a bit disturbing but oh what beautiful flooring they replaced it with. I would love to rip up what carpet I have left in my house and do the same thing.

  19. Congrats on the new house and the updates. We had to change out our carpet much sooner than expected when we moved here. It had to do with a recall on the dog food I was then feeding...
A client I groomed for today was telling me about having ferrets several years ago. How coincidental.

  21. There were several actionable doings by your parents but I think in the ends they made amends

  22. That was quite a story!!!!!! Loved your fill-ins too.....My Mom says when she was little and her Dad (who loved pistachios) was snacking - she would call them "stashios" and that's what she STILL calls them!

    Hugs, Teddy
