November Reader's Digest and I happened upon this article,
"The Secret Lives of Letters", by Brooke Nelson. Mr. Nelson says letters may be small characters, but there are amazing stories behind all 26 alphabet all-stars.
that was interesting!!!! and to imagine how the words looked once with two "uu's" is pawsome!!! the mama hates X...probably because she always had to search for that letter in math lessons LOL
Mom often wondered about the double uu W - very interesting. Math Mom knew that about "x". When first teaching variables to students, they have to learn to stop using the multiplication sign X so they don't get confused when side by side. We don't know anything about any of that:)
Now I am going to want to call it double v. Let me state unequivocally that letters simply do not belong in math. I hated algebra when I took it and when both my kids took it. LOL!
X is the first letter of my name. I wonder if that is because I was an unknown quantity, now that I'm known, I wonder if my name will to change to something like Alice or Betsy or Candy. Candy...mmmmm. Xena
Please leave a meow or bark for Angel Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^= Life is short, spend it with those who make you laugh “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” (Leo F.
