Do you notice that there is something quite unusual about this tree.  Do you see it?

Here is a close up, it is a member of the chain gang?!

  1. Always something new on the EMW. Was the tree trying to abscond? He it committed a crime?

  3. Looks like someone put the chain around the tree to try and hold it upright, and the tree has grown around the chain.

  5. We loved our fountain for several years until it died. Mom says it was too much work and upkeep, so we didn't buy a new one. For kitties it would be a lot easier. Happy Friday!

  6. I had to look closely to see the chain (don't have my computer glasses on -- lol). I, too, assume someone had wanted to keep the various branches/trunks together and standing upright.

Angel Madi had an awesome fountain! Nicki drank from the ones I had here, but Derry was scared of them (of course). :-)

  7. I hope they aren't going to hook the tree up to some powerful machine and take it down. I have seen enough of trees in our neighborhood yanked out of the ground or cut down. Love seeing Madi's condo! Z Cat never jumped on the whole idea of a fountain, she preferred Jerry's coffee mug. Good Morning!

  10. We have a tree that looks exactly like that and that chain is a good idea but I don’t think it would work if one of the lamb started to fall. Now I’m wondering if that’s what they wanna do there for or if there was another reason. Good to see you Maddie and I remember your water bowl fountain and all the funny we had looking at it

  11. They must have been trying to keep the trunks upright but why a chain not something less damaging. You look pretty happy sitting in front of your fountain, Madi♥

  12. That's one way to keep the tree from falling.

  17. The tree was an interesting find.

Cute joke, i only wish my Sweetie would help me train the cats to use a fountain, he gives in and lets the water drip from the faucet instead and it gets expensive to have the water running.

Thank you for joining Feline Friday!

  18. Well I think that chain must have been doing its' job of holding that tree together for a while - looks like the tree bark is starting to grow up through the chain. Nice that they "saved" the tree! Angel Madi could always tell a fabulous joke!!!

  19. That was a clever idea and I hope it continues working. Could use that idea in my forest in back of my house. I have a huge huge tree that since we moved here waaaaaaaay back I have called the Cobra tree. It has a trunk that flares out on either side for a few feet and reminds me of a cobra hood. But there are three looooong long branches, limbs, spread out that need support.

Please leave a meow or bark for Angel Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^=
