Thoroughly Thankful Poetic Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.
Here is our photo challenge

3 Wheels

Silver and red
held together with a thread (cable)
Two wheels on the front
One on the back
Is it coming or going, is it a car or a trike?
Who Cares?
It is quite striking.

***********************************
Speaking of most unusual looking vehicles
We spotted this one parked at Mt. Mitchell while we were on vacation.
It is called a Slingshot.  Of course it is RED which caught my eye
Two wheels in the front, one on the back.

As we were WINDING our way down the spiral curves of
Mt. Mitchell we saw it again.
Let me just say it WAS 87 x's as HOT on the road as it was in the parking lot.
In fact, we saw numerous, of what I would call tricycle/motorcycles on the
Blue Ridge Parkway. Some had one wheel in front and two in back.

Gigi Google told me this:
Let's be clear: Though it resembles a sports car, the Slingshot is classified as a three-wheeled motorcycle. It's actually a reverse trike, with two wheels in the front and a single drive wheel in the rear. ... Polaris insists you and your passenger wear motorcycle helmets and use the seatbelts

Kat and Pup sent me the following email and pictures.

Kat and his Mom would be very Thankful for any advice you might
have on RV-ing with a kit-KAT

Dearest Aunty HiC,
In other news, Pup and I are spending time, just chillin’ in the RV.  I like it as long as it’s stationary. I wasn’t in a carrier on my first ride, and that was a BIG  mistake. Mom and Dad are experts at RV-ing with doggos, (6 cross-country trips w/ 3 Labs), but traveling with a cat presents a steep learning curve, ha!

If any blogger Furiends have RV experience, we would appreciate any suggestions/advice/warnings. 😹

❤️ Kat Your Feline Nephew

Dearest Nephews,
I surely wish I could offer some helpful hints here.
I purrsonally have only been in an RV 2 times but never with a furry friend.
I found them to be quite comfy, roomy and such great views from all angles.
I'm thinking for 100% sure that visiting it when it is sitting still is a wonderful IDEA.
I might also suggest some type of secured apparatus at one of the windows would
meet with your approval.  I bet your most talented Dad will come up with something.
Eagerly awaiting the time (which I now is soon to be) email from the road telling me
all the fine things you two have seen.
Lovingly your Aunty HiC

  1. ha! that red ride would be something for the mama (not!) Don't worry when da rolling house starts to shake... it brings you to da bestest locations ever ;O)

  2. That is a funny little trike and not something I would want to ride in. If I was offered a ride in the one you saw at Mt. Mitchell, that would be a different story altogether!

Some cats take to travelling... most don't... that's my contribution to that one.

As for the slingshot, after all the fancy sales talk and sultry pictures of the thing on the British site, there comes the warning similar to what you found...
"SLINGSHOT® IS A THREE-WHEELED MOTORCYCLE. IT IS NOT A CAR, IT DOES NOT HAVE AIRBAGS, AND IT DOES NOT MEET AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY STANDARDS. THREE WHEEL VEHICLES MAY HANDLE DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHER VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY IN WET CONDITIONS. ALWAYS WEAR EU APPROVED FULL FACE HELMET AND FASTEN SEAT BELTS. DRIVER MAY NEED A VALID MOTORCYCLE ENDORSEMENT. DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE."

Doesn't meet auto safety standards... may explain why I have never seen one on the roads here. That and the weather would put most off! YAM xx

  4. Love your poem but we prefer the Slingshot to the photo challenge trike. How do you climb into that thing? The top must hinge up?!☺

  5. Those are interesting cars but we prefer our good old ordinary car.Hope all of you have a great day.

  6. Kat maybe your dad could take you on some short practice runs around the neighborhood and to the store until you get use to the RV.

I've seen those trikes before. There are a few here in Mississippi. I can tell you they do not wear helmets in them.

  7. Cute poem! We don't have any advice on RV travel with a furry but Mom did drive to Florida from New Jersey with 4 cats and a woofie in her van. Kitties were all in a big crate.

  8. Bertie's advice is to avoid the west of Scotland in your RV, with or without a furry friend, as our roads are very narrow and twisty and if you don't get stuck you will surely get car-sick...

  9. That sure is a cute poem! Make sure the carriers are secure and won't slide around and have a safe and secure spot for the litter box and food and water too. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  10. I think I'd be pretty anxious being in a moving RV too. I don't like even being in a car. But I suppose you can get used to it eventually.

My favorite young human, Ryan would love to have one of those 3 wheel things!

  11. Lots of fun things today and I love your poem. So cute.

I've no idea how to take a kitty RVing. I've seen kitties that like it though. Perhaps your vet can help. They know lots of ways to help kitties deal with traveling.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Big hug. ♥

  12. I LOVE the look of the Slingshot, but The Hubby grumbles that it's for folks who cannot handle a REAL motorcycle. I think he's just jealous...

  14. That slingshot is quite interesting, and we bet it moves faster than any rock shot from a slingshot.

  15. Glad you explained the Slingshot. Thought it was parked back in, and the single wheel was the front!

  16. What a GREAT poem! I also love that "Slingshot"........there are some amazing "vehicles" out there - people are so darn creative. I'm not sure I'd feel safe in any of them! Never spent any time in an RV but I know lots of pets are OK in them and have fun as long as they're with their people!

    Hugs, Teddy
